Getting Full Screen Carplay/AA on Acura 2021 to 2024 Models
I have been using https://usb.acura.com to check for updates, and when it actually told me that there was one today, I downloaded it to the USB stick and installed it from there directly. Not sure if it's available OTA, though I would imagine it would be checking the same servers.
The update is tied to your VIN (data is right there in the JSON file), so I can't share it. Wouldn't really help, because you'd still have to setup the USB key, and if you're doing that, you're going to be downloading the update while there.
You are correct. My understanding is that the updates are for models that already have the wireless Android Auto/CarPlay (split screen) OEM option. For the TLX refresh, only the '24's and the earliest model '25's will get it. Unfortunately, the '21-'23 TLX models did not have the wireless option. We have to use a dongle to access the AA/CarPlay or use a cable. The wireless option was part of the '22 MDX refresh after a '21 hiatus, so it got the update.
