Choice between 2020 TLX PMC Edition or 2021 TLX A-Spec
If you were choosing between a 2020 TLX PMC Edition and a 2021 TLX ASpec, which would you choose and why?

If you want the V6, get the 2020. If you can wait for a type-S, get the Type-S. If you need a car right now, the 2021 TLX will hold better value than the PMC TLX so if you want to trade into a TLX-S you'll have a little more equity. How good of a deal are you getting on the PMC vs the 2021?

I would take the price of the TLX PMC and apply it to the upcoming TLX Type-S.

save the money and get a Type S

can vary, but, they aren't flying off the lots, even though it's a very good car. The PMC Ed. is just too much for a fancy paint job. You'd be getting a new car vs a
1 yr old one. Don't know the cost of each....but, for me..the A-Spec. My dealer, one of the top in the country, currently has 40 '21 TLX's in stock. I know I could
buy one for at least Invoice...prob. under. I'm holding out for the Type S. I could get the A-Spec right now...pic of colors, but, the Type S is calling my name! LOL!

Well, quick answer: 2021 TLX A-Spec. I've owned many Acuras. Right now the new TLX can be bought at a pretty good discount. I know dealer to dealer that

a pretty good veh. to start with. I'm sure we'll disagree, since you sound "down" on them.

Personally, I would hold out for the Type S but if I had to choose between a '20 TLX PMC or a '21 TLX A-Spec, I would go with the '21. Would prefer the V6 from the '20 model but prefer everything else in the '21. I don't hate the 2.0T. I just like the V6 better.

I'd buy the 2021 A-Spec. It's a much better driver's car IMO. I say this, having previously leased a 2018 TLX. You won't miss the V6 with this drivetrain.

I haven't driven either car but I thought the 3.5L might be better with the SH-AWD since I don't how much power the SH-AWD robs. Maybe I'll go drive both of the cars at the end of the month when the salesmen/dealerships are really "hungry". Plus I don't know if I' ready to get rid of my 07 TypeS.

The 2022 model of the TLX should undergo some sort of diet as they look to recover some of that fuel economy back.

I think most folks choosing the V6 over the 2.0 prefer the sound of the V6. Folks who have driven both should be able to feel slightly more torque with the newer engine though.

Just make absolutely sure that you won't regret not spending the little extra money on getting the latest model, whenever you are driving an one-generation-old TLX and seeing others driving the 2021 TLX on the road.

Why? Because someone challenged me as to what a performance car is supposed to do when I said the TLX-2 was not a sport sedan. Could have run a vid of me doing a hot lap rat race in a M3 but a pro driver in a Z4 is so much more impressive.
VS the Porsche we had a Boxster & its a great car but not all that suitable for me & my wife. The Z4 fits us old farts a little bit better.
My son in law now has the Boxster to go with my daughters Cayenne. Left & right.
Me driving, oldest daughter laughing & videoing because she thinks she had a better time. Don't ask don't tell in effect

I would hold off until the TLX Type-S this summer because I doubt the TLX PMC will sell out anytime soon. I would wait to see how the TLX Type-S is priced and performs (its +2 ton weight might hurt it compared to the competition). I would think the +MMC TLX Type-S in around 2024 would have the best pricing, least amount of issues, and upgraded tech/looks if you wanted to keep something beyond the standard 4/50k basic warranty period.

Hear what you are saying but when you see yourself in a vid you say to yourself, "Did I really do that?" My daughter being helpful??? said OPPS a few times.

in Hondas not long ago..I had Accord Coupes with this engine....I've owned many Acura RDX's with this engine AND SH-Awd...and IF one knows how to handle and trust that AWD
system...it's amazing. Been around a long time and improved upon often. Great for dry road hp driving and also on rain/snow roads. Outstanding system. I've always enjoyed the
power of this engine. When pushed it moves. My current '19 MDX has this engine and it's great...as always. I had an '18 TLX A-Spec, with the 3.5 and SH-Awd. and I loved driving
that car. Was a keeper, but, I didn't! LOL! Grass is always greener or...in my case wanted to get back to my V8 roots. Bought my 11th Mustang GT in Jun of '19.

As well as forgetting all FCA products discussed ad nauseum by you on an Acura forum. Your comment is insulting to those 1Gs owners that are happy with their car. Additionally, all other 1G haters, please refrain from using this post to beat a dead horse. Thank you.

I can get extremely happy with a basic Camry as a grocery getter....as a sport sedan the 1G is to forget indeed, the quicker, the better, it is my opinion (and not only mine) sorry if you get offended.

If I didn't have such bad experience with 2015 V6 AWD Tech, I would jump on a PMC that my local dealer has. It's discounted almost $12K. I love the Valencia Red and the fact you can combine the ASPEC, Advance and SHAWD into one car...it really is all I need/want. But I just can't get over how badly I got screwed on the 15 TLX. It was utter trash (early build from Sept 2014) and aside from losing a bucket of money, I also lost my 2016 Accord Sport 6MT in that trade. As "cheap" as that Accord was, it was awesome - all analog, no nannies, no e-parking brake, no digital gauges, just old school 2.4L high revving VTEC 6MT. I just can't see myself giving up another near-perfect Accord for another TLX that essentially has the same trans that the 2015 had. Making the same mistake twice might just make me go off the cliff.

I don't care how Acura advertised it, the TLX in any current iteration isn't a "sports sedan", and to continue to prop it up in that category to continue criticizing it reveals your "hater" status. If the 2G Type-S fails to meet your well-documented "enthusiast" credentials, feel free to let your freak flag fly.

Our disagreement is focused on the 1G, not the 2G. I mentioned any current iteration vs. the Type-S because it's the version Acura can advertise as a "sports sedan" with a straight face, and therefore, worthy of all your sports sedan comparison/criticism.

The 1G was s a failure at its basic premium sporty sedan premise, it was no more premium (interior materials, tech, etc..) or sporty/athletic than quite a few of regular mainstream sedans which actually were better (for example a Mazda 6).

Sport sedan does not necessarily mean tire shredding power...a 320i was a good sport sedan because they got the basics right even if it did not have a powerful engine.

Agree to disagree, and additionally, I'll not respond to your future posts, and please don't respond to mine because I'm bored with the "beating a dead horse" retread comments.
