Yay for your new car! What's a medium deal? You mentioned a discount on the 23 but you ordered a 24. So sticker plus free maintenance and/or extended warranty? I've seen other people claim they're practically giving away the 23's but obv it was worth it to you to pay extra either for the features (although Canucks already got the stuff we didn't) or the new color combo.

What accessories did you pick? I added the aero bits but installed myself since I bought out of town and my local dealer sucks. The side skirts were cake but the rear bits sucked.

Acura is slow getting 2024 TLX Type S models to dealers so far. March is 1/3 over and most dealers have gotten one Two so far here in North East. It’s like 2022 when they didn’t build many TLX’s . Anyone know why?

Acura is not big enough to sell in the volumes you expect. Or...they're saving the chips for the RDX and MDX, which have a better chance of leaving lots...

Yes I have observed the same thing. However in calendar 2024 sales have been below 1,000 each month and production has been the same. Demand seems to have dropped lately so accordingly fewer are being produced. Another possibility is the fact some dealers still have many 2023's on their lot!! They need to move those units as they are getting long in the tooth so to speak.

Problem is they won't move those units or if they do they'll move them slowly. The 2024s are out and people want to have the updated TLX-S because it has the things that quite frankly shouldve been introduced in the 2023 model year. Due to that anyone who is looking to get a TLX-S wants a 2024 model and may be holding out until their local dealer gets one in the color they want. Sure they can get a damn good deal on a unsold 2023 model but would you settle for a 2023 TLX-S knowing the 2024 has the features you wanted in the Type-S when it first released in 2021?

Not sure what's going on but there are zero 2024 Type S models in California, and less than a dozen regular ones. My local dealer has none and says he has no ETA on when they'll arrive, but it doesn't seem like they're in a hurry because so far I'm the only person who's inquired about the car. He shared with me that trying to move the TLX has been very difficult compared to the previous gen (not surprising as I've seen less than 5 current TLXs on the street ever), and that he's more than happy to take as many Integras, RDX, and MDX that Acura can send them.

There are no TLX Type S’s in Mass 23’s or 24’s . Like I said seems like 2022 again, Acura not making many TLX’s . We are almost in April which = high prices.

Still looking for 24 TLX S type

Live in LA (CA) and have been trying to buy a new 24 TLX S Type since Dec of 23. No dealer in CA has any inventory and they don't have a date when they will. Seems like 24 TLX S types are only available east of the Marysville assembly plant. Anyone have as to why this is?

My 2 cents:

I'm sure many of the critical chips are shared across these common platforms and better to give to cars that sell than those that don't!

I'm genuinely curious how the recent earthquake in Taiwan is going to impact continued supply of these chips not just for Acura, but across the industry!

My local dealership hinted that it could be due to poor demand. They had a hell of a time trying to move TLXs; they sold less than 30 all of last year.

Anecdotally, it does seem like moving cars like the TLX is going to be hard. I don't even see many ES's, A4s, or C-Classes these days; the Model 3 has absolutely taken over this segment (and the Model Y moreso in an even hotter segment)

Here's what's bonkers: even if every single TLX that was sold in the US was actually sold in California, it would still have only captured 10% of the near luxury car sedan market here. The Model 3's CA sales on the other hand captured a whopping 53%.

It also didn't help that customers didn't know if they were comparing against the 3 series or 5 series (identity crisis)!

TLX sales in general have been meager every month so far in 2024 (less than one thousand each month) and consequently production has been dialed back. There are very few Type S on the East coast so not sure which region (if any) is receiving priority.

All this simply makes the TLX, especially the TypeS, more exclusive, due to extreme limited availability. A far cry from finding dozens and dozens of your own Tesla vehicle in any shopping mall parking lot.

Now I see why Acura severely cut back the TLX by reducing it to only 3 trim levels for 2024, if sales continue like this towards the end of 2024. The TLX just might be discontinued after 2024 or sometime in 2025.

Sedans in general just sell like crap unless you're a Honda Accord, most people just want crossovers and for like 90% of families why get a TLX when the MDX is right there if you're shopping Acura. The Type S had a certain audience of enthusiasts that lined up to get them but now everyone who wants one has one or is waiting for the used market so that demand has dried up to. Will be a slow few years for the TLX.

Glad I got my Apex Blue w/Red when I did though, tragedy that combination is no longer available but I guess it will help resale value someday.

How I feel about Performance Red w/Ebony I can't believe Acura dropped that color from 2024 TLX-S models in favor of Urban Gray which isn't a bad color but still no Red apart from the 2024 A-Spec? Weird move but great for resale in the near future for my Type-S

Just about every other car I see is that type of gray for every make.

Just got an update from my local dealer about TLX Type S availability. Seems the Marysville assembly plant has been closed to produce parts for their new EV's. The revamped plant will reopen in late May and TLX Type S deliveries may resume after that. There are 2 Type S coming to my dealer but they are the wrong color inside and out. Keeping my fingers crossed for more inventory.

Honda in early 2024 consolidated the two assembly lines they had to one as they transition to electric vehicles. Since Accord, Integra, and CRV are also produced in Marysville they have made the decision to reduce TLX production as this is the model with the lowest sales. Purely a business decision that few could argue with.

I put a deposit down end of February 2024 for a Type S. Chicagoland area. The 2024 TLX inventory has been near 0, I saw a 2024 tech package and a few A specs and they were gone. I was supposed to have my TLX in 6-8 weeks. I just found out (verified with an Acura dealer competitor) that "production was stopped" on TLX and will allegedly continue in May 2024. One dealer told me May 1st, the other said end of May.

Then I saw this reply about the Marysville Ohio plant that builds Accords, TLXs and the PMC editions: https://www.wosu.org/2023-03-14/hond...rysville-plant

Does not sound like good news for the TLX.... I no longer have my hopes up of getting a 2024 TLX Type S but I will hold out up until end of July.
