Acura needs to the one thing:
Sell the PMC with all features and add another 25-30HP just like they did with NSX. This color will only appreciate over time
One question: is there any car in this segment that looks better than the TLX?
Preliminary reports looks like it will cost around ~$67k - aside from the beautiful new color borrowed from the last gen NSX-S, it will have all accessories as standard.
Wife and I had considered the Curva red for a second until we remembered that there were no advance features.
Still don't know why PMC didn't put Advance features in the 2023. All prior PMC model years included all Aspec and Advance features.
Still makes me think the 24 MMC might create a Type S Advance, with the 1000 watt stereo, airr suspension, and massaging seats of the MDX. Would fill the RLX hole in the lineup nicely.

I doubt they will come up with air suspensions. But TYPE S advance, yes. I think they will do it.

I agree 👍🏽, my feelings is that if Acura wants to continue to deliver a solid exciting lineup, they have to start positioning at a pricepoint. Advance Type-S would start at $60k $61k right? Its not going to be $56k so the consumer needs to get comfortable with the market. People are saying $65k pMc not worth it, but a regular advance Type-S will be that much essentially. I feel like the 2024 MMC will have a buzz rather than just a nip and tuck fascia that Acura typically does. Its allegedly the Flagship sedan of 2 cars lol.

My guess is that they're waiting for the MMC to offer a Type S Advance to try to drum up more interest and demand. Given that the Type S is a low volume trim for an already low volume model (RIP sedans), I can't imagine Acura is going to be investing a whole lot into the MMC, so the only way to keep it "fresh" is by saving the good stuff for later. I can't blame them; the ROI of pumping money into the RDX (and maybe an RDX Type S) is going to be much better than spending that on the TLX and TLX Type S.
As much as I like the Laguna blue, this Gotham Gray PMC is probably the only one that I would mostly likely pay the premium on in terms of buying a car with no extra features.
Gotham grey with black wheels. Far better styling IMO to the three colors they have available now. I would never pay $67k for one (and whatever mark-ups dealers will want), but still very cool for whoever gets one.
As a gotham gray NSX Type S owner, I have the opportunity to purchase 1 of the 50 gotham gray TLX, as Acura offers - "to complete my gotham gray collection." I love the gotham gray NSX. It looks so amazing in person. I'm curious what folks think of the 50 limited gotham gray TLXs, and if it's worth the $67k asking price, even to complement my NSX type-S.

By far the best looking sedan in the segment and of course current TLX! This color is so classy and yet stands out! If money isn’t an issue, complete the collection. This will only appreciate over time.

So you know better than most the pros and cons of the matte paint, the biggest cons being the intricate care required and high cost if repair is needed. Only you can say whether the pros outweigh the cons for a more mainstream sedan. Do you need a sedan? Would you have been in the market for a TLX-S anyway? If not, I can't see adding a gotham gray TLX-S "just because". And realize they also may keep adding to this so-called collection; if they next come out with a gotham gray MDX or RDX are you going to keep buying them in order to KEEP completing the collection?
Had a friend get a Veloster with the matte gray paint and he said he'd never do it again. It's a PITA to clean (you can't wash it normally), you have to remove sap and bird poop immediately, and if you have any scratches you have to repaint; can't buff it.
It's a cool look, but the headaches aren't worth it unless you plan to never drive it.

I always clear bra my cars. I put full paint protection film on my NSX Gotham Gray, so I wouldn't have to worry about minor damage and repair. The matte PPF looks amazing on the NSX and most can't even tell it has PPF on it. I was not in the market for a TLX at all, but now I'm curious about it due to this outreach. I really want a RDX or MDX vs TLX, but since I haven't really looked at the TLX perhaps I would appreciate it more if I knew more about it. Thanks for the input.

Agreed, that's why if I were to get any matte gray car, it would have to have full PPF.

Question: if you were going to PPF a car anyways, why not just have the regular grey paint and PPF with something like XPEL Stealth to get the matte look? Is it for the exclusivity of the factory paint?

I have not seen XPEL stealth on regular gray paint, would it be similar to gotham gray? I would need to see the results up close to see how close they are.

this is dope, that NSX Type-S is pretty gorgeous too I bet! But is it true what some people are saying about this Gotham Gray TLX PMC, that only NSX owners and I guess more specifically NSX Type-S owners get first right of refusal at reserving this 1 of 50 TLX PMC?

Yeah sorry to tell you but the TLX, specifically the Type-S will appreciate in value, if not hold its value hard. As soon as I signed the papers for my Type-S it was worth more than I paid for it as I got a MSRP deal. So there’s no doubt in my mind that the TLX-S PMC will appreciate in value especially the Gotham Gray version
The 2020 TLX PMCs are running about $38k on a quick google seach. MSRP was $51k.
For me the lack of Advance features, when it is likely that Advance features are coming in 2024, would be a concern. If would make a 2023 PMC "outdated" soon which is likely why the 2020 TLX PMC started to depreciate.

Comparing a regular TLX with a Type S with regards to depreciation is like comparing a regular Civic with a Type R and saying, quick google search shows that regular Civics depreciate quick so Type R will also lose its value the same way😂.
Low mileage 21 Type S fetch the same price as new MSRP two years later up here in Canada.

That's kind of weird when you can buy a new Type S for MSRP... Maybe you guys just don't have any supply up there?

You are absolutely correct. Only 240 copies (or less due to supply problems) of TLX Type-S are available each model year for the entire Canada country. There are 52 Acura dealers in Canada. Acura Canada wants to make it a limited availability sedan.
(It is good that Bear is no longer on this sub-forum, because he would go ballistic whenever I said the TLX-S was available in limited production quantity.)
I am curious how the depreciation has been on the past TLX type S models. Have they held up pretty well in terms of value, vs regular TLXs?
Based on year and mileage, but my '21 Was $54k. 20 months later cash offers vary, but as high as $46k w/ 19352 miles. Im certain private sale market would yield $48-$50k based on condition, miles and added accessories. So $8k in about 2 years. Also, my car condition is rated as "like new".

I have a 2023 Type-S and if I sell it I would profit abit from it actually but I know as my mileage go up the value will go down in conjunction with age but good to know the values is strong on the type-s still

2020 TLX PMC was anything but regular. It had a V6, SH-AWD, A-Spec + Advance Pkg, all in a hand built package for $52K USD. Regular TLX in 2020 was a 2.4L I4 with a price of around $34K USD.
No matter how you spin it, the TLX will never be a collectible that will hold same value as MSRP, let alone grow it. I absolutely, 100% guarantee you that if you went and got a PMC for $65K, you would lose your ass on it when selling it, 6 months or 6 years from now.

Previous Gen TLX didn't have a Type S so you are comparing apples and oranges. All I'm saying is that Type S or Type R will hold their value well compared to the non Type S or R models. If you don't think so go buy a lightly used model with low mileage and in great condition and let us know how much you paid.
Too early to tell how the resale market will hold up for the PMC S models. Personally, I would not pay what they're asking for them. Stick to the regular S and pay MSRP without the BS add ons and you should be ok and no I'm not expecting my car to appreciate 😂 but don't think I will lose my a$$ on it when it's time to sell it as well.
