2024 TLX MMC spied...

It might be. The other MMC spied a few months ago only had the front and rear valance covered up. This picture also has the hood covered. I wonder if the Type-S is going to have a different hood with maybe some extra vents or something. I wonder if this also leans towards more power output with the added heat extraction? Pure speculation at this point, obviously, but most curious with the hood covered like that.
That older pic was an Aspec

Very interesting!
Curious to know what’s cooking at Acura HQ? It looks like more than just refreshing the grill in my opinion. If this is TYPE, the U.S model is getting 360
also, there is something with the hood. They can’t just cover it for no reason. The car is out since 2020.

I don't expect any bump in V6 HP as they're probably saving that for gen 3 TLX.

Acura did that to keep up w/the CTR, which it will always be compared against. The TLX-S has no such competition within the Honda/Acura family. Honda made sure of that when they killed off the Accord Turbo 2.0 (it was within the conversation of the V6).

However, we may get a few goodies like wireless Apple Carplay, a similar front grill and style like MDX and 360 camera for US market and finally a digital gauges. Can't ask for more.

Now the biggest mystery is RDX:
1. Teggy - brand new and ITS is coming this June. Done!
2. TLX - we see come minor or major changes are coming. At least it's confirmed. Done!
3. MDX - we saw a few pics with covered up front. Again, we know Acura will update a few things here and there. Done!
4. ZDX and ZDX TYPE S are coming. It's confirmed for 2024. DONE
WHAT ABOUT RDX? We haven't seen or heard anything about it. Acura is cooking something for sure.....RDX and RDX TYPE S. I believe Acura will reveal and discuss it in late 2023 or early 2024. for 2025 model! Thoughts?

Type S may get the new hood with heat extractor like ITS. They will add all the tech goodies. Possibly a small hp bump. I have the MDX and tbh the digital tach is LAME. Prefer the current set up on the S. However, maybe they can make it more interesting if they do upgrade it. Given the low sales volumes Acura wants to spend as little as possible on the MMC but they will jack the MSRP again.

I really don't want digital gauges. This is my personal preference and no matter in which car brand. I hate digital gauges. I think the analog is so much better. Now cars are becoming a computer. New MB E class has Zoom camera and Angry Birds...like seriously??? what's next?

My thoughts are that Acura had initially planned the ZDX to be the RDX replacement, as the first of their electrification cutover. Seems like there is still a strong market for an RDX, but with no investment announced by Acura in ICE nor Hybrid, it is possible that RDX will remain minimally changed even though due for a next generation in 25.
I hope Acura reconsiders its EV-only roadmap as I'd like to stay with the brand but see no EV in my future for at least 5 years, if they have any change of heart then the 25 RDX would be the first sign (eg: if they relent to the market forces and put in a hybrid or PHEV for a 25 RDX).

I quite like the animations I just want the animations be correspondent to the model the car is such as having a type-s model in the animations if you’re driving a Type-S

However, there are various display technologies and software graphics implementations. Some are better than others. Maybe see (in person) what the other Japanese and even Germans are doing now-days?
I also got used to the nice analog cockpit displays in our Acuras and Hondas. I had my doubts, but the digital cockpit displays in our Audis have no glare, are very bright, and have 3D graphics with appropriate shadows. My wife's old 2020 Q5e had these small (strangely shaped) gas and EV-battery gauges on the dash (apart from the main displays). Even in direct sun-light, they looked analog, but they were actually digital.

And don't forget the small SUV that should launch this year.

The following electric vehicles qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit:
Cadillac Lyriq
Chevrolet Blazer
Chevrolet Bolt & Bolt EUV
Chevrolet Equinox
Chevrolet Silverado
Ford F-150 Lightning (both standard and extended range battery)
Tesla Model 3
Tesla Model Y (both all-wheel and long range drives)
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/electri...x-credit-list/
The reduction in available credits and a possible regime change in the next election could slow down EV adoption considerably! If I'm Acura, I'm not putting all my eggs into the EV basket. Acura is too small a company and won't survive the wrong hedge.

At least you're objective and honest about it.

I don't recall any MMCs changing powertrain in recent memory. So the 4-cyl and V6 engines of the TLX 6th gen are pretty much likely to stay in 2024 just like the twin powertrains that existed the entire 5th gen. It is amazing how marketing can change a simple addition of a turbo for power and efficiency into groundbreaking new achievements in the 6th gen, but I digress...
MMCs usually upgrade technology and tweak body panels, so that would be my bet for a 2024. The tech upgrades can be substantial, so I still expect a Type S Advance to come out, especially if there is a front camera on these spy shots.

I know we keep saying ICB engines are on their way out. As of May 2023:

There are only a handful states within the US that have agreed to this. I've learned that w/anything environmental-related, mandates tend to be "soft" and constantly delayed from the initial deadline.
#63
The United States doesn't matter if the rest of the world keep that mandate. Honda isn't going to mass produce ICE cars just for the United States when their fleet for the rest of the planet has to be electric.

does anyone know if switching the rectangular radar plates for the upcoming, cleaner-looking round one would be possible?

The Type S is a 360 degree camera away from my buying one. I was sniffing around at the Type S at my local dealer in my preferred spec, but I’m going to hold off a few months given these spy shots. I expect I’ll be able to order a 2024 during the summer. Still don’t like the lack of back seat space, but otherwise I know I will enjoy driving the car.
I was thinking about “downgrading” to an ITS, but the loss of features from my RLX is too much, not even air vents for the rear seat passengers…Oh crap, I’m getting old…

I was curious about this as I have a reservation for a TLX Type S PMC. I asked my agent about the refresh and all he could tell me was that Acura corporate confirmed the refresh for later this year but no ETA. He couldn't confirm anything that would be included on the refresh either. I feel a little cheated that i'd be purchasing a PMC that costs more yet is an older model within the same year. All I want is Wireless Apple Car Play and possible 360-degree cam.

Acura already announced that a TLX MMR is coming in 2023 (probably for the 2024 model year).
ZDX is going on sale in 1Q24 so that quarter's hype-cycle is taken. And ITS took 2Q23.
The rumored small crossover (probably the ADX) and the TLX MMR are the two remaining items to hype this year. My guess is the ADX in 3Q23 for the back-to-college crowd, leaving the TLX MMR in 4Q23.

This adapter for wireless carplay has been basically perfect. The only thing I've noticed is sometimes when interacting with my phone like browsing the web in a parking lot the music might get a little glitchy. Not sure if it's an adapter or iPhone glitch. Either way, I highly recommend this one.
