2021 TLX A Spec vs 2020 A Spec, performance test, cabin noise and more.

Hello,

I recently had the opportunity to review the new TLX A spec and compare it to the older TLX A Spec.

I did a performance test, 0-60, cabin noise test, adaptive cruise control, space and more.

video here: 2021 Acura TLX A Spec vs 2020 TLX A Spec, is the new TLX quicker and better?

let me know your thoughts.

There’s some good content there. If you’re interested in upping the production quality of your videos and you don’t necessarily have the time or training to do that, consider using Fiverr (fiverr.com). They can really make your videos look slick for surprisingly little money.

Here’s one where Shelby Church talks about how she uses the service (even though I don’t think she really needs any help with her editing skills).

Yo! I just posted a link on the 0-60 thread lol. How was the transmission and throttle response on the 2021, was it laggy like TheStraightPipes noticed?
Thanks for the doing this btw...

The Dragy numbers should be pretty close to the numbers that the magazines will publish. Low 6's is not really a bad number. Would be competitive with the old muscle cars. Just shows you how much the technology has advanced since that era.

I have run a few cars with my Dragy & its almost dead on to the C&D test numbers.

compared to the older model, i dont think it was sluggish at all. Throttle response is better in my opinion. Far better actually. The only complaint I have is the exhaust note, not very good. Its not deep like the V6. Also I am not the biggest fan of the touch pad.

Dragy is super accurate. I have used it and compared it multiple times. I think if I had done another rounds I could have gotten 6.1😐

Why is the slop % different between the two cars? It looks like the 2020 TLX had a disadvantage and was measured going uphill, or at least higher grade compared to 2021. Could this explain slower performance?

the cars were tested exactly at the same spot. You make a good point about the slope. My explanation is very simple. If you dont reset dragy it will keep recording the movement of the vehicle. Which means that I pressed reset way too late for the 2020, which means past 100km test the car kept moving, and the dragy picked up every level of the surface. There’s no way, guaranteed that the older tlx was at disadvantage. I did the test exactly at the same spot. The app can record multiple meters. In most cases people do 0-60 from start to stop, i had to keep going to do the braking test. So it sets multiple records as you keep moving till your press reset. Most dragy users will understand this.

one more thing to add, at the top if you look at the Metrics, exactly the same for both.
