Hi guys, I just got my brand new 2020 TLX and installed a set of winter tires on it. However the machinists from the tire store told me that they are not able to install the OEM TPMS sensors on it, since the rims don’t fit, because the wheel is thinner than the Acura OEM wheel.
However, as I heard, there is a kind of adapter I can use to attach it on the rim. Could anyone please me some advice that where I can get one for it?
Here is the picture about my rim and the sensor. The rim brand is RSSW.
I've never heard about adapters. One thing you could do is get those aftermarket TPMS instead that looks like a non-TPMS valve stem. They work the same but I am not sure if it lasts as long.
I'm not sure if this may work, but google "TPMS wheel bands". It moves the sensor to the center of the rim so there's a bit more clearance and then you run a regular valve stem instead of the TPMS sensor at the valve stem. Folks like to do this with aftermarket wheels
