Need help in getting RIM sizing and wheel options

Hey All,

Picked up a TLX 2015 2.4 Tech P-AWS recently and have been thinking of purchasing a set of Vossen VFS-2 for the non winter seasons. I want a similar look as in the link below, just not sure on how to go about it. I am thinking to go up to a mac 19's in order to keep things legit performance wise. I believe Acura has a 19-inch stock version of this car at this year as well (anyone know the stock measurements for this model?). I've also heard replacing tires is common when going above 19 especially when driving in the GTA in Toronto, ON (Canada). So with that said how do I evaluate what size rims i need to get, in order to match the pics from the link?

Gallery: 2015 Acura TLX on Vossen VFS2 Wheels ? Acura Connected

NOTE: emailed the photographer and he mentioned that he believes they might be 20x8.5 ib Conti Extreme DWS 245/35/20

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

you buy the 20 inch x 8.5 inch VFS2 wheels and put them on, with accompanying rubber.

you hunt for Acura specs, whether that be on an official acura website or a wheel website.
the Acura OEM specs are 19x8 +50

to help you determine offset, you can plug in these numbers into a wheel calculator.
basically, the more positive offset the more the wheel will stick out further.
1010TIRES.COM - Wheel Offset Calculator
this will visually show you how much the offset will push the wheel out.

then head over to the tire calculator
Tire Size Calculator - Tire and Wheel Plus Sizing
you'll want your aftermarket tire as CLOSE to OEM diameter as possible.
That means you'll need to know the OEM tire size.

Since the car you want to model yours after is using 20x8.5 with unknown offset, you can use the same general specs.
if you want to move down to a 19 inch wheel, you can.
Just play with the online calculators to visually see.

you can always grab a ruler or measuring tape to measure on your car.

You can do 19x8.5 all around or a 19x9.5 and 19x10 if you want them staggered.

That is the setup I was looking to do on my TLX. Are you happy with it?

245/35/20 with 20inch by 9.5 with 42 offset. To be honest with you I can fit a tire that is an inch wider . That’s what I’m going to do because I do not like the stretch tire look . We have some pretty crappy roads here and they seem to be fine

2015 tlx 2.4 — rim & tire upgrade

Hi Everyone, new subscriber here..I still have the original tire and rim 225/55/r17 .. and thinking of upgrading.i am not happy with the current performance with the stock tire.. any suggestions? I’m looking of upgrading to 19”rim 245/40/r19 but hesitant considering I only have 2.4 Cyl.

Am I better off keeping the 17”rim and just buy a better tire?
If so. Is the continental DWS06 the tire to get?

Any help will be appreciated..

Thank you..

Hey there,

I was in the same situation as you and ended up going up to the 19s. I put Vossens on them for the summer and love it, it's definitely worth it if your getting a nice set of wheels. Performance wise I don't see a big differnece, but the sport edition of this vehicle comes with stock 19s. I got the same Contis on the 19s as well.

Good luck bro.

Thanks smoke.. on your 19s did you have v6 or 2.4 engine? That is my concern.. engine power.. 2.4 being under powered and sporting a wider and heavier rim..
