Rattles/Noises to be hunted and destroyed.
I know these are quiet cars, and generally have very few noises, but I'm a perfectionist. I want to find every single imperfection and fix it. Has anyone found any, or asked your dealer to look into any?
Overall I'd say my car makes zero rattles going over regular smooth pavement at any speed, but it DOES have some sounds that pop up when I hit certain bumps or gratings that vibrate the car just right, and that drives me crazy. I have a couple ideas for where sounds might be coming from:
1. Sunglasses tray. No shocker, you can hear the sunglasses rolling around in there with hard accel or braking. I may add more foam to it.
2. Rear speaker deck. Sometimes when a bass line hits just right I hear a rattle. I fixed most of it by putting some foam up in the trunk between the plastic of the deck and the back window, but it's not perfect. This still frustrates me, and I believe that big hard-plastic deck is a big potential rattle source.
3. Oh-shit handles. I've noticed that several of these in the car can make a rattle if they are percussed just right (try rapping with your knuckles on the headliner right next to them). It's subtle, but it's there. I'm considering trying to pry them open and put in something to stop that.
4. Doors? I have one rattle that I hear when I drive over bumps that I can't trace, and I suspect one of my right-side doors. I had tint installed twice (dealer put wrong one on the first time), so that means they partially opened the door panels twice. That process could have introduced a rattle?
5. Gauge cluster/steering wheel. There is some sort of rattle from this area I hear occasionally. I can't find anything that seems loose, so it's a mystery.

That's disconcerting Acura still hasn't fix the damn back window rattle from the stereo woofers. This has been an issue since the 3G's. I had to bring my 3G back several times to the dealer to get this resolved. The last time I got into an argument with the service manager after they lowered the bass volume control in the audio settings to fix the issue.

I have number 5 and finally pin pointed it. For mine, It's on top of the steering column where the steering wheel wrap from over the airbag in the wheel over-laps the column. If you reach through the steering wheel, find this seem and press down hard you find it. Slight vibration instantly gone. Im going to have the dealer look into sticking it down better or wedge something in to keep it up. One or the other.
I have a mystery one in back too.

Definitely have heard #1, the sunglasses. I agree that they should have padded that area more. It bugs me enough to open it, reposition and close. Thought about trying to wrap my lens cleaning cloth around them to see if that mitigates the vibrations.
I haven't heard the other ones, though.

I got to ride as a passenger recently, and did some feeling around the headliner. I noticed that the right side of the sunroom made a creaking noise that the rest did not, so I sort of knocked on it, and I heard a loud pop. I think there was a plastic snap that needed to fall into place, as now it doesn't creak anymore.
The biggest one I think I have left is the rattle from the back. I notice it mostly when hitting a hard bump, like a pothole. It's a pretty significant rattle, not muffled sounding at all, which makes me think of the rear speaker deck -the only piece of hard exposed plastic behind me I can think of.
Part of me wants to disassemble the whole thing and reinstall it, foaming and taping as I go.

I'm pretty sure I successfully found and fixed one source of rattles. There is a black plastic panel just behind the door handle on the inside of each door, and I found that all 4 of my little panels wiggle back and forth in place quite easily. A few of them were loose enough that they could easily jiggle in place with vibrations from the car moving, and since they are made of hard plastic, they are not silent when they move.
I popped each one out (easy using any hooked tool, I used a dental pick) and wrapped the plastic tabs (3 each) holding them in place with a tiny bit of this gummy fabric tape stuff I have. Putting them back in place now, they are all totally solid, no movement at all. Similarly, I noticed the hard plastic panel in the rear seat dome light was also loose, and capable of rattling, so I gave the little tabs holding it in place the same treatment.
Ultimately, I think the best anti-rattle treatment I could give would be a complete disassemble and reassemble of the rear speaker deck, coating with gummy tape as I go, but that's a lot of work. I'm going to wait and see how much my door panel and dome light fix helps before I worry further.

I've been having some "rattles" and odd noises recently. And they are of the type that likely when I get to the dealer I'll get the dreaded "can't replicate".
One is a definite rattle coming from what sounds like the rear shelf area. It makes it even when the radio is off, so I know it's not from any bass. I've have yet to trace it since I'd likely need someone in the back seat looking for it at the time.
The other is coming from both front doors. But the noise is occurring when the doors are opened to enter the car. It sounds like a rubbing "click" type sound that appears to be coming from the ear between the front doors and the front fenders. There's a rubber seal between the doors and fenders, so I'm not certain yet if this seal is "sticking". There's also foam in the fender well area.
I'm in Denver. The noises seem to be worse when it's cold out, but today it's a nice, warm and sunny day. I had to listen the "click click click" noise from the rear shelf for the entire commute to work. "Drove" me nuts!!

This does this on both driver and passenger side for me. I'm sure Acura will tell me I need to put some sort of lubricant on the rubber seals to keep it from sticking. Will see....
There happens to be on the right side by the front passenger seat belt, when I connect the seat belt when my wife is not in the car, the rattle disappears. Just an annoying noise, with my excellent hearing. We will figure it out. Just make the radio louder. Thank you

Several versions of the rear package shelf rattle/vibration issue have been going on with many owners since car was introduced and Acura is supposed to be working on a "fix". I've been waiting on this fix since August. Can be very annoying and tried to remedy the situation myself several times, but found no permanent solution yet. I'm scared if I stay in the trunk to long, my test driver won't let me out!
Lately I still have the rear deck rattle, but only when I hit a really particular type of bump in the road. I crammed Anouilh foam back there it doesn't rattle much from bass anymore.
The biggest rattle I've been dealing with lately has been what I believe to be the seat belt retractor. I have no idea how I could ever get in there to fix that one. I had a complete failure of my attempt to remove the cover of my oh-shit handles, those things are totally stuck in place. So that problem persists too.
What I'm wondering now is which of these sounds do I have a shot at the dealer fixing for me?
