I have a 2015 TLX I-4 and I noticed a popping sound when parking my car or just turning my steering wheel slowly when leaving a driveway. This popping sound is coming from the front wheels and I only hear it when I'm turning my steering wheel. Has anyone experienced this? I took a look behind my wheels and took snap shots behind the front wheels where it shows the brake calipers and also noticed what appear to be corroded or rust like appearance parts already! I've only had this car since 09/26/14 and it currently has 5,700 miles on it!

 

Not sure what is causing the popping sound. Could be a bushing. But I wouldn't worry about the oxidation. Yes it is 'rust' but much like you might see on bridge girders, it is actually protecting the metal underneath.

 

Thanks for responding. I haven't heard the popping sound for awhile but I'm still monitoring the problem, having an intermittent problem will never provide a solution at the dealership, where they always say no problem detected at this time. Could be the bushing like you said, but I'm still keeping an eye out for it among other things. Thanks again!

 

the airbag was rubbing other components within the steering wheel.

other members also experienced the same issue and the airbag had to be replaced

 

whats up with all that rust on new acura's suspension parts? Trying to save money on coating?

I know right! I checked my parents new Honda Odyssey and the same parts look just like the photos I've shared! So I'm assuming all Honda and Acura Vehicles will have this!
