Check your coolant levels.

It has been looked at by two dealers a total of 7 times for this issue, I been in other TLX's and no problem. I have to stop about every 30 miles if I'm going 65 mph to warm up the cabin

put it at Auto 81 degrees. If it's not on auto it can't control it. Don't tweak the vent settings. The heat will come from the floor much more from the upper vents. Upper vents supply A/C that is on to help control humidity.

Same with my wife's '15 Adv model with no solution in sight by dealer.

could be a failed damper behind the dash.

Take it off Auto and set it to push air out of both vents - you should feel a steady stream of warm air.

I don't know who tested the "Auto" setting but IMO it's not the best.

I dunno, my auto setting is fantastic (and it gets very cold here, converting for you Americans it was -14F yesterday). The auto setting automatically swaps between defrost and warming you up. I have the cabin temp set at 25 C and it keeps it nice and warm, and doesn't blast me with cold air before it's warmer than what's already in the car. I leave everything, including the seat heaters, on full auto mode and I find the logic to be quite good.

I take it OFF AUTO, because above 32* F the A/C compressor comes on
Not necessary, & a waste of fuel, in the winter; I have mine split between Heat, & Defrost vents, & temp at 72*. make sure the fan speed is set to Auto, & the sync mode is on, unless the passenger likes a different temp.
In the Spring, & Summer,FULL AUTO is the preferred mode

Right - that's the thing I don't like about it. Once it gets the cabin to the correct temp the AC/Defrost cycles on and off which has the effect of blowing cool air around your upper body. My wife (granted she's a freeze-baby) complains about it all the time so I turn AUTO off.

I have not noticed the A/C coming on, but I believe there is logic built into the system to periodically engage the A/C compressor to keep it lubricated. It may have been the handbook from the 3G TL that said the A/C should be turned on regularly over the winter for this effect.

The A/C helps pull humidity out of the cabin. It can get very humid in Houston. For some reason this car retains moisture in the cabin. I often run the A/C with the recirc off to pull humidity out of the cabin. It can get so bad that it beads up on the inside glass.

This is a stupid characteristic of the system when on auto. not bothering me now as my commute is so short it doesnt get to the point where it starts throwing cold air at you. it should stay on feet and warm. If I need it on the shield I can press a button (or more in the case of the TLX's convoluted touch screen).

I agree 100%. The curious thing to me is that my 13 Accord EX-L had the AUTO function and it worked great! Never threw cool air in the Winter from any vent. It's a trivial issue as there's an easy workaround for me but I'm a little disappointed in the way it's implemented here.

There's also the risk of getting "the stink" from leaving it on AUTO as noted in the RLX section:
