My keyless entry quit working tonight...

I parked my car to go somewhere, went inside for 5 minutes and discovered i forgot something in my car so I went back to it. The door would not open, I had to use the buttons on the keypad. So I figured it would heal itself by the time I would come back out a few hours later, well it still does not work, I am glad the ignition worked ). I wonder what the issue is???

When you say keypad, I assume you mean the buttons on the smart key-fob.

Since your ignition is still working, then the smart key is still sending the proper signal that identifies you as the owner. There are antennas located at both the driver and passenger doors. Perhaps the receiver at the drivers door has gone defective. Try entering through the front passenger door to prove this is indeed the problem.

Passenger door was dead too this morning. I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes and hooked back up and now all works fine. Weird.

It sure sounds like the problem is within the car, probably the radio receiver that picks up the smart key signal. However there is still the possibility it could be the remote. If the problem reoccurs try your second remote.

The more details you can give the dealer, the faster he can find the problem, and the less it will cost you.
