Moonroof rattling inside of car while closed.

Took to the dealer to get fixed and at first they took it for a drive and said they could not hear any noise but then I showed them a video I had took and were amazed how annoying it was. They then took for another drive and amazingly they also heard this rattling. They gave me a loaner car and stated they fixed issue using double sided tape but a day later and the noise is worst and it seems to either be a bad roof sliding panel or loose track any suggestions? My car is a 2016 TLX.

Double sided tape?

IMO, don't let the dealer push you around.

Take it back until it's replaced with all OEM parts - you have a warranty, I would use it..

I am taking back next week

I am a little upset especially after paying $535 for a spare tire kit and then having been back twice since for this noise problem.

What does the tire kit have to do with the moon roof?

Hahaha hahaha double sided tape. Probably wasn't even 3M. Probably used scotch tape from the service managers desk! That's sad and even worse when the dealer doesn't want to deal with issues. What dealership?

Still hearing rattle coming from sunroof.

Hi all and Good evening. I took my car in for the third time involving this horrible rattle noise coming from sunroof. I sent the dealer videos even but as I took it there they tell me they hear nothing. I am going to call my attorney if matter is not resolved. If anyone has any advice please give me it

I had a VERY bad rattle coming from my roof in the MDX, somewhere at the back of the sunroof area. It sounded like something plastic hitting something else plastic. It absolutely drove me bat shit crazy. I began avoiding the car in order to get away from the sound. It was that bad.

Good luck with this. Shame dealers treat people who spent thousands like this. It goes to show you how much work Acura still has before it can truly be called a Luxury brand with service like that.

Beleive me, I was posting to show you that I can absolutely sympathize with how frustrating and infuriating noises coming from right on top of your head and constantly in your right ear can be. I tried so many things to fix it, nothing worked. I hope they fix it for you man.

It does really suck !!!! I cannot stand it and even with music it is downright annoying. I have not heard from the dealer today so obviously they have found something wrong with it.

Hi all and a quick update on my sunroof noise problem. The dealer has had my car since last Wednesday and has not contacted me until today and stated " We do not hear any noise from sunroof " I am at the firehouse today and tomorrow they want me to take them for a test drive. I am not a liar and I certainly do not like the way this situation is going. I may have to call my attorney to help me with this situation.

So they had your car for 6 days and they call you to tell you they do not hear any noise? It took them 6 days to tell you they hear no noise? You make sure you go with them on that test drive and you make damn certain they hear it. I love when dealers play the "we can't hear it game". Infuriating.

Thanks for advice.

Yeah tomorrow will be six days that they've had my car and now they're going to tell me that they don't hear nothing the first time I took it in was about a month and a half ago and they said they did hear something so they put that stupid double-sided tape which didn't do a damn thing and now they're saying They hear nothing. My Cousin is a lawyer and has always helped me in situations with any issues that arised. I will be as nice as possible but ( enough is enough ".

I don't see this as being something "minor". It is something IMHO large enough that it is ruining your experience with your car. You should not have to sit there and run around to get something like this fixed. You seem like you know what to do. Let us know how it goes.

Finally!!! They hear freaking noise.

I was extremely exhausted and drove to dealer with my loaner and got in car with owner of dealership and drove about twi freaking minutes and then the noise came he immediately said " stop!! " and lets go back and apologized. I am a pretty easygoing guy but when someobe has my car for 6 days and cant hear a noise until I get in damn car is really not viable as integrity in a dealership. They are going to fix now after 3 visits for same problem.

Update.

Well it is officially two weeks they had car tomorrow and they advised me still trying to locate problem. I am sick of it and just want my car back ( I am glad I have loaner but I miss my own car ). What should I do? Do you think I should tell them to give me another TLX or at least so ething for crying out loud right?

I have the same problem!

There is a rattling sound coming from the sunroof area when I drive.
I also noticed that when I close the door the sunroof moves slightly like its loose!
I then tried to push on the sunroof from inside and it does move slightly.

My Acura dealer is also a pain to deal with. I am still trying to convince them that my Acuralink does not connect on sunny days. (Heat Related) I gave them detailed instruction to reproduce but that still didn't follow them.

This is another thing to add to my growing list of issues with this car that I bought less than a year ago. SMH.

I have owned 3 Acuras not to mention many Hondas but this maybe the very last Acura. Service is such a pain to deal with.
