Ignition problem in week-old TLX

With only 300 miles on my brand-new TLX, encountered a strange problem this morning. Pushing the red start-up button (on a 35 degree day in Brooklyn), with my foot depressed on brake, the battery and electronics came right on. But the car itself wouldn't start. There were no warning lights--just the message above the speedometer to depress the brake pedal and push the START button. I cycled to OFF, and tried again. And again. Nothing happened for five more times (other than the start up of the electronics). Then, suddenly, on the sixth time, doing exactly the same procedure, the car started--for no reason that I could determine. I drove it for about an hour. Then tried starting it a couple more times. Each time it started with no problem. But I'm kind of spooked by this--and wondering if anyone else has ever encountered this situation. And what they did about it.
I called my dealer who noted that I probably wasn't pressing the brake pedal firmly enough--which I dispute.
Looking forward to any answers anyone might have.

Was your driver door open by any chance ?

I got a good one yesterday myself: I was parked on my driveway and I just wanted to move the car for half a meter and I start the car , all good , press the D button and when I was pushing the throttle the car moved to P and nothing happened ... What the hell ? I re-did the entire sequence once again , same results , just to realize that my drive door was open and that's was doing that... I told to myself RTFM....

That is very strange when that first happens. I have had that happen too when just moving the car a short distance

I would have them check the battery to be on the safe side and to eliminate it as a potential cause.

Go see Ricky, the service tech advisor, at Acura of Brooklyn; good guy
My SH-AWD/Tech, was a week old, & it had those madcap "sensors gone wild" issues
it's 1,000 miles later, & no further problems

just an fyi if you have the car in drive and open the door it will shift to park, its a safety feature on these cars no more of the old days when u can drive the car up your driveway with one foot out the door and the door open, i peronally hate this feature
