HELP from anyone??? Replaced my engine before the Recall.
I enjoyed my 2015 TLX right up to the engine failure at 72,000 miles and a few months beyond the 4-year warranty in July 2022. I contacted the Acura dealership in Timonium, they wanted $1,500 to look at it and probably $11,000 for a new engine. All would be out of pocket since I was out of warranty. NO mention of previous problems with this engine, etc. I had all of my service done at the dealership and was up to date. I decided to have the local shop put in a used engine for $5,200. After the Recall notice, I appealed to Honda Motor Company who mentioned in the recall that those of us paying for our repairs might be reimbursed. After perfect paperwork, they refused to reimburse because they could not be sure of the cause of the engine failure. I do not know of further recourse rather than a lawsuit. HONDA MOTORS has lost my respect. I will not buy another car from this company and would not recommend it anymore.
