Has anybody auto-start/stop, stopped working

As far as I know that was a setting that turn itself on each time you started the car and you would have to turn it off manually each time

I swear my engine hasn't shut off at a stop in quite some time and I'm relieved, but I wonder why. Is it because I drive in Sport mode all the time?

You are correct that there is no setting to permanently disable auto start/stop so it would need to be turned off manually every time you start the car. But the auto-stop only engages when you are completely stopped and the brake pedal reaches a certain threshold so if you are are only lightly holding the brake pedal it will not engage. I'm wondering if you just aren't pushing the brake pedal down hard enough for it to engage.

I did hear that auto-start/stop will not engage if you have a muzzler or an S-VCM controller installed. I don't know if this is true or not (someone confirm) but it seems like it would make sense to not have it engage until the car gets up to operating temperature.

I noticed this a few days ago too. It used to annoy me every time I stopped at a light or hard braked. I noticed it hadn't kicked in in quite some time now. Not sure why - only taken my car to the shop twice since I bought it a year ago for routine oil changes. Maybe there was some sort of update?

So I guess we're now happy when something breaks?

FYI, I am just following up on my own post I recently installed an S-VCM controller and I can confirm that the auto-start/stop feature has now been disabled. I don't have to manually disable it every time I start the car.

I'm just throwing this out there, but the ASS feature quit working on our Jeep Cherokee when the battery became weak.

EDIT: And, yes, I see what I did there.

Yes I agree it’s definitely a battery issue. The auto idle stop kills batteries early.... disable it with an idlestopper, then no more worries!
