Engine turn over time before starting

Trying to see if anyone has noticed their engine turns over longer than other cars before the engine starts. I usually run 89 or 93 octane and have not noticed any effect on start times. Sometimes it starts very quick after pushing the button and other times it seems like it turns over for ~2-3 seconds.

Is this a side effect of Direct Injection maybe?

Is there any correlation to how long since the engine had previously been running and how long it takes to start?? That is, if the car has sat overnight, does it take longer to turn over than if you parked for a few minutes and then started it up again??
What I'm wondering is if the injectors take a second to "fill up" and the engine sensors need a second to "sense and react to the various engine parameters" when the car has sat for a period and that may be what is causing the longer turn over period that is being experienced.
Just a wild guess.

I have the same problem...I never had this problem with my 09 TL?????

I asked my service advisor and he mentioned the same Direct Injection...
I would really like for the wiz kids at Acura to fix this. I wonder if it is a re-programing thing???

A little over 3,000 miles on mine and I haven't noticed this. And mine has been fed nothing but 89 octane mid-grade.

Wow. Once again, my experience is completely different.

I've always been surprised how very quickly the car starts.

It starts so quickly that it's more annoying waiting for all the systems to initialize so that I can use the backup camera and voice commands!

The RLX is a ULEV2 vehicle. The ULEV retards ignition when needed to minimize the emissions (worst upon start up). This will vary depending on whether the car is hot, cold or anywhere in between as well as the ambient temp, humidity etc.

The DI engine will likely add additional parameters to this.
