Drivers Seat Trim

2015 TLX Adv

Has anyone experienced a problem with broken trip along the bottom of the drivers seat? I have replaced this plastic trim piece three (3) times since 2016 and I now see it is broken again. I wondering if this is a common defect that others have experienced or is it a problem specific to my vehicle? Repairs cost $100-$150 each time.

Thanks for your help.

The plastic piece by the seat controls? Nope never had a problem with it, but I have heard more than a few people have broken that piece multiple times. Seems to be from the weight of when entering the vehicle.

Not super common, but it does occur. I used to sell Acuras and am on the forums often. I have sat in hundreds of TLX over the years, and seen it maybe twice, as well as heard from people on the forum. So its unlikely it will occur, but it does seem to happen.

I think this defect is quite common and I think this is an issue that Acura should acknowledge and deal with.

Thus far they've ignored it.

So, after several months of waiting, I finally heard a decision (11/09/21) from Acura on whether or not they were going to cover these trim pieces under
warranty or not. Answer? No they are not. Case closed.
So, I might try another dealer to see whether or not they will do anything for me.
I'm not counting on it.
What's most disappointing here is that this issue is a design defect that Acura has not only decided NOT to fix
but also not even willing to acknowledge this is a problem.
In my view, Acura is now no better than any of the other car companies. Buyer beware.
