Dash lighting not transitioning to night mode

The dash lighting on a 2015 tlx Awd tech stays on the day mode when it gets dark rather than transitioning to the night mode. The bright lights can be very distracting at night. I looked through system settings and can't find any way to correct this. Is there something that I'm missing? Any ideas on how to correct this?

To the right of the steering wheel is the adjustment for dash lights. If its on ALL BARS it will always be on day mode. You have to put it on ONE LESS than all bars for it to activate to dark mode. Maybe thats the problem, silly I know but I noticed thats how it works

You have to have it set at 1 less than max brightness for it to switch over. If the setting is on max, the cluster won't change to night mode.
