Anomalous "BRAKE" warning displayed

On today's 100-mile trip in TLX V6-Tech (interstate most of the way), there were 3 instances of "BRAKE" being displayed momentarily on the multi-information display between tachometer and speedometer. These warnings occurred seemingly for no discernible reason. What may have triggered these warnings?

Without more information and being there, I can only guess.

When I have seen this warning, I was following too close to the vehicle in front of me. I could have been following or leaving the lane in preparation to pass and it went off.

If it went off for no discernible reason somehow the sensor was triggered or you have a system issue. I am no mech but I have driven my TLX for over 4,000 miles.

Yeah... there was nothing even close in front of me! I'll just wait to see if it occurs again on my return trip this Sunday. btw... the warning "BRAKE" was exceedingly brief... and then disappeared.

"Some conditions which might make it activate, or not activate"...., worth taking a look at the manual: (Long list!)

(rather than post it all here, it's on 3 pages! in the manual: 368-370.)

A useful tool, but there are also a number of "what ifs" about the camera system as well, listed on page 351.

I guess Stop, Look, Listen still applies when you drive.

Was it raining?

I live in Seattle, and I notice a fair share of "BRAKE!" misfires as the roads are wet and reflective.

On an extended highway trip, I had it fire a few times when construction barrels were on the shoulder of road, ones with the orange and white horizontal strips. Also had it fire when approaching an overhead bridge. These scenarios with no other cars in view.

Small inconveniences for when it does work perfectly. You might also check your distance settings.

I was getting loads of odd inconsistent beeps till I changed the distance to short. Much better now. A bridge did set mine off too.

You know... there is paranormal activity around us everywhere. Maybe Acura is on to something.

Agreed. But it is also working against them, a la only some I4 owners with transmission issues.

Just wondering...
Has anyone with the Advance/Elite version actually had the car brake for them due to being too close to another car or object in front?
On my V6 tech, it seems I have to get pretty close to just have the warning light trigger- doesn't seem that the car could really have enough time to brake from a non-moving object to avoid major damage.
And for those that did experience an "auto braking"- has it ever happened due to a false detection, as described in earlier posts? I would imagine that would be quite an interesting driving experience!

No, and I am not about to try it out. I have had an occasion where the warning flashed and the seat belt tensioners engaged. There is a setting for the warning distance (Long/Normal/Short/Off). Maybe yours is set at Short.
