2015 TLX V6 Transmission Problems
2015 TLX V6 Transmission Problems
I bought a used 2015 TLX V6 with only 45xxx miles on it. I got too excited, didn’t test drive it when i drove it home & didn’t notice a jerking feeling in 2nd to 3rd gear & when i let go of the gas, it pulls back which really threw me off. I brought it to a acura dealer & they said they had to do a software update, etc & it should be fine. picked it up about 2 days later, the jerkiness wasn’t as bad as it was before so i drove it around town more & the jerkiness wasn’t noticeable anymore. next morning, went to school & boom. The jerkiness came back but even worse. Took it back to acura & got approved for a new transmission. I was so glad i had extended warranty so i didn’t pay a dime. 3 weeks later, yes 3 weeks! They said my car is ready to be picked up. Picked it up & it was perfect but the pulling back feeling was still there. I don’t know if that’s how they made the TLX trannys. When i let go of the gas, a sluggish feeling occurs. Anyone experienced this too?
Good on your dealer for admitting there was an issue and replacing the transmission for you. Some people did not get so lucky. With that said, some transmissions are programmed to have that pull back feeling. My 2007 MDX (no relation to your TLX really) was like that and it’s a normal thing with MDX’s. Could be the same deal with TLX’s as well.
Did you read the thread? If you read it, you can see that there are TSBs for 2015 TLX regarding the transmission. It will up to the dealer's discretion on what to apply to your car. Initial fix is usually a software update. Then if that does not fix the problem, they may grant you with a newer transmission that doesn't have the jerky feeling. Reading is your friend, my friend.

TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin. These are issued by Acura to the dealers on steps to mitigate known issues. Look through the sticky thread on the main TLX page here:

You should find the transmission one on there. 15-040 is the one I believe. Good luck.
