As a former user of Waze in my previous 2015 LX, I bought the base 2018 TLX and use Waze on my IPhone as my GPS, connected via cable. However, CarPlay frequently seems activated when I hook up the IPhone. I avoid using it and get to Waze.
On more than one occasion, Waze has crashed while driving along, sometimes requiring me to just reload Waze and sometimes to first "open" the phone (enter the passcode). I have rebooted the phone, reinstalled Waze but the problem still persists and as it occurs while driving, it is annoying and dangerous.

Is it connected to Carplay?? Any suggestions? Perhaps my IPhone 6 is a bit old. My iOS and Waze app are up to date.
