What usb and HDMI wiring do you have?
I’m expecting the usb/hdmi wires in the mail sometime this week. I hope everything works when i connect the usb/hdmi wires. I got the exact same part numbers that you listed. Its only 2 different parts, right? 39118-TZ3-A00 and 39117-TZ3-A20.

That's the problem. Without USB and HDMI it won't work. So after you've connected both you should have the carplay or android auto on your screen.

Acura Parts HQ just informed me that they had to cancel my order because those wires are out of stock. Damnit. They said American Honda has it on back-order and they don’t know they will be able to get it. Do you know where i can buy both of those wires now?
- Head Unit (without navi 39540-TZ3-B020, 39540-TZ3-A510, with navi 39540-TZ3-A610, 39540-TZ3-A710, 39540-TZ3-C620)
- Upper Display 39810-TZ3-A110, 39810-TZ3-C110
- Interface dial unit/hard buttons (without navi: 39050-TZ3-A31, with navi: 39050-TZ3-A41
- Carplay Unit 39095-TZ3-A011
- Both USB/HDMI wiring from the 2018 TLX (39117-TZ3-A20, 39118-TZ3-A00)
- Tuner Unit 39800-TZ3-A311
- Custom harness to connect the carplay unit to the head unit (JAE MX34 20P025-MX34-JAE-F-tr with Pins for the Carplay Unit. Some extra pins to connect them in the 16-pin Plug from the radio)
Most of the wiring is directly from the carplay Unit to the Audio Unit connector H. 3 Wires are from Connector A from the Audio Unit to the Carplay Unit (GND is A1, +B from A3 and SWD +B from A21)
Can somebody please tell me where does H6 from the head unit go? I don’t know where i’m supposed to connect it to. Please help. Thanks.
H6 is a schield around the wires. It is only connected to the head unit. The carplay unit does not have a pin for it.
This is a picture of my 16-pin plug from the head unit. I don’t know what to do with H6. I know you said its supposed to be a shield, but i’m a little confused.
I’m finally done with the upgrade and everything works perfect. Thank you guys for all the help, especially john-germany. I could not have done this without you guys.

Did you swap to the new tuner as well?
I was stuck on Android Auto loading so I gave up on the swap. I know you were stuck on loading as well. What did you do from that point to get things working? I don't even care about XM so I can get Android Auto working I'll be happy.

I’m not sure if my problem was the same as yours, but it was stuck on the loading screen. The reason mine was stuck at that screen was because I did not have the usb/hdmi wires yet (39117-TZ3-A20, 39118-TZ3-A00). I hope that helps.
I have a small problem with the carplay. It works fine, but sometimes when I start my car the screen is stuck on loading. Then I just unplug my phone and plug it back in and it works fine. Do you know what the problem is?
For this problem i don't know anything.
It will be very interesting, if someone with the 2018 TLX have the same issue.
For wireless Carplay i've also a dongle in my usb to get the wireless feature. CPLAY2AIR is my Adapter and it will work very well.
I'Ve head about an other box which have Wireless Carplay and Android Auto together, but i've not tested it. It's the Ottocast Play2Video Pro Adapter.
There's no such thing as original CarPlay because the CarPlay software is always provided by Apple, so it's always kind of aftermarket. But especially on the Acura TLX prior to 2021. For example, in the 2015 to 2017 models, they didn't have it, and then in 2018, they just took a third-party module, rebranded it, and put it under the seat as an integrated CarPlay solution. They've had an available HDMI input in the back of the radio all along, and that's what's used to get the CarPlay going.
Now, let's talk about getting parts. Even if you manage to get all the parts, you don't know where they came from. They could be from a vehicle in a junkyard, and if that vehicle was flooded, how long will these modules last?
Some people experience loading problems even after installation. If you don't get the parts from a junkyard, you're probably looking at spending anywhere from $1500 to $2000. And even then, you still don't have wireless CarPlay. Adding a dongle might seem like a solution, but it just tricks the car into opening up the video stream from the dongle, using local quality android replicated CarPlay on a low-speed processor.
So, after spending all that time, you've essentially installed original CarPlay just to end up using simulated CarPlay through a wireless dongle.
In summary, you need all kinds of parts, and even if you can source them, the CarPlay still won't be wireless. Then, when you add a wireless dongle, your radio might not work properly—it might not load, etc. There are zero advantages to this method.
You might think there's an advantage to getting this kind of setup, but there's really none, especially for this car. With our solution, you'll get a retrofit CarPlay solution plus real wireless CarPlay without a low-quality dongle.
Many of you may have heard about the bugs people encounter with different cars, especially regarding electronics. This happens because various modules of the car sometimes fail to communicate properly with each other, especially with car infotainment systems. For instance, the 2018 Acura TLX factory CarPlay is as aftermarket as it gets. It's essentially an add-on placed under the seat because they couldn't modify the radio to integrate Apple CarPlay. Since they had an open HDMI port in the back of the radio, they simply took a module and placed it under the seat, calling it CarPlay.
Our solution for this car will provide genuine wireless CarPlay without any dongle. It won't create a CarPlay bridge like those dongles, which essentially offer simulated CarPlay on Android. Installing these wireless dongles means you're not using the same CarPlay system you have in the car, essentially ruining your upgrade experience. So, unless you plan to use wired CarPlay from the start, it's best to avoid them.
But even if you opt for wired CarPlay, why bother when you can get wireless for less than $500 with a lifetime warranty in the USA.
You won't have to spend years trying to gather all the parts, only to end up with potentially used junkyard components.
This post might be a bit lengthy, but many people believe they're gaining some advantage by adding “factory” CarPlay to their car. But let me tell you something: CarPlay is CarPlay, no matter how it's installed. It still functions the same way in your car, using the screen to display CarPlay and the joystick to control it. This isn't like a body control module or engine control module. In fact, our solution works better than most other CarPlay solutions out there, even those factory-built ones. Just take a look at how many people experience problems with their factory CarPlay in their new TLX 2021 and up.
CarPlay does not connect to any vital features of the car so stressing to get the original CarPlay just to add an aftermarket wireless dongle and make it aftermarket Low quality CarPlay then you might as well start with aftermarket.

Can you give more details on your product? How is it installed? Does it come with necessary harness for wiring in the TLX? Does it work by putting the factory radio in AUX mode or more like the OEM option?

It's better to get ZTUZAUTO Wireless CarPlay from aliexpress (ZTUZAUTO Globle Store). Half the price then getting from NavTool, Naviks, or even from local shop. Everything works perfectly! Incoming/outgoing calls, Apple Maps, and music are all integrate seamlessly with the Acura TLX's OEM Bluetooth. You can even do iPhone screen mirroring. The installation is easy and Plug&Play, no wire cut. No AUX. If you are comfortable removing headunit, then it's piece of cake
So 4 years after attempting this mod I finally went back to it and finally got it working.
My issue was that Android Auto would be stuck on loading. I did some research on here and learned that I also needed to change the TCU/Bluetooth Module. Thanks to @hrpuffnstuff12 for the post about TCU. The plus side is that I nowhave AcuraLink working on my 2015 since the TCU is from an 18-20.
I didn't change the tuner since there is a lot more wiring required. It still worksbu shows error in diagnostic mode. XM probably doesn't work either but I don't need it.
I had aftermarket Carplay/AA box installed but I hated that the radio had to be in AUX mode and there was terrible alternator whine. I built a custom T-harness so everything plugged in without splicing.
