Text/Email "Select Account" Greyed Out
I'm trying to enable the receipt of text messages in my new TLX. I had a previous TLX that I was able to set up to receive texts using this same iPhone 6. But in the new car, after turn on Enable Text/Email, both Select Account and New Text/Email Alert are greyed out.
Can anyone help?

Thanks, but I do have cellular data turned on.
My salesman said this is a known problem with iPhones because Acura and Apple are having issues. They're waiting for them to sign an agreement and then there will be a fix. I told him the text feature worked using this phone in my previous TLX, and he said that it's probably not working in the new car because since I've gotten it I've updated iOS. I'm not sure that's true, but in any case I'll just use Siri.

I deleted my phone several times and kept trying but still no luck. Then I couldn't re-pair my phone!
After the 98th try
I re-paired the phone successfully, and guess what - "Select Account" was no longer greyed out!
Now I'm having another problem getting the Voice Prompt to work. I'm going to post separately to see if anyone can help with that. This navi system is much more problematic than the one in my other TLX.

Am I the only one wondering why we need to receive text messages while driving? I would prefer everyone giving 100% to driving their cars without any unnecessary distractions - however small they may be.

I found this on another forum, maybe it will help you. Once you're done, you can test it by sending yourself a text using Siri and it should come through in the car:
1) Turn the car on accessory mode.
2) Pair your phone to the car and make sure that the Bluetooth icon is illuminated in the Navigation display in the top left.
3) Go to your iPhone settings, select bluetooth, select the (i) HandsFreeLink information icon on the right side of the screen, swipe the SHOW NOTIFICATIONS BUTTON so that it is green.
4) Power down your iPhone, then restart it.
5) When your phone is back on, turn the engine in the car on. The sync function of the text display will not work unless the engine is running.
6) Connect the phone to the running car and go to the phone settings menu.
7) Scroll down to the Enable Text/Email setting, select OK and turn it ON
8) Scroll over to the Text/Email tab and select OK on the Enable Text/Email and turn it ON
9) Scroll to SELECT ACCOUNT and select MAP-MAS-iOS (although there may be only 1 option you will still need to press the OK button on the digital jog)
10) Press the back button to return to the previous menu
11) Select the New Text/Email Alert press OK and turn it ON

The Owner Manual doesn't show MAP-MAS-iOS. I got mine to work without reboot the phone. But anyway, on the 2017 TLX base, I enabled contact photo "On". When my family called me, I don't see contact photo show in the TLX screen. I have iPhone 7 latest iOS.
Try BlackBerry/lol
As crazy as it seems, my BB Q10, used to not only let me respond to texts, but gave me the option of texts or email
My IPhone 64GB SE has no such luck
It can receive texts on my Nav. screen, but NOT email
It can ONLY respond by asking Siri to send someone a text
It CANNOT respond by touchscreen; Apple blames Acura; Acura blames Apple; blah blah
Anyway, LOVE my IPhone, & NEVER going back to BB

You can’t use the stock replies. It’s an issue with Apple’s APIs. You can use Siri Eyes Free and respond via voice.
