I have never gotten my "manual" key to actually open the door in my 2015 TLX, which was a real problem when my battery died on me--luckily, the Acura road guy came with a balloon pump which allowed him to squeeze the car door open a sliver and put a hanger in to manually unlock the door. I went to my local Acura dealer in Queens, NY who claimed they had reprogrammed both sets of keys. But, once again, neither set is able to open the door. Is there some trick I'm missing?

it's less a matter of "programing" and more cutting.

 

Your dealer needs to make this right. The manual key should easily fit into the door lock and turn either way! Until that can happen, it is the dealer's problem to get this fixed for you. On my 4G I use my manual key often when I forget to close the moon roof. The key is a lot easier than getting back into the car, turning on the ignition, closing the roof, turning off the ignition and getting back out.

 

Key fits into the slot, turns both ways. However, it does nothing in terms of de-activating the alarm or opening the door. Took it to dealer, who claimed it was fixed, after he put new battery in. But, as I related before, it doesn't work. Wish there was some other way than driving an hour each way, and then waiting for several hours to get serviced.
