Is there a way to have the radio volume lower when the using the navigation system for guidance? In my prev 07 TL and in my wife's MDX the radio volume lowers when the nav is broadcasting the directions. I've looked in the menus and cant find it. Thanks.

 

You cannot lower the radio volume, but you can increase the Nav volume. When the Nav is talking use the volume wheel on the steering to change its volume to the level you want. You can also change Nav volume through the settings, but I find this more useful.

 

Thanks... I found that out after getting the car. I was just hoping the radio volume would lower when the nav voice came on. Oh well...

 

I believe that only works on US models and maybe Canadian models after mid 2015. That function was released as part of an ODMD TSB that is not available to early Canadian models.

 

My observation is that the radio/audio volume is lowered automatically when the navigation voice appears. You can adjust the loudness of the navigation voice (by moving the volume adjustment while the navigation is 'talking'). There is no adjustment for the amount of radio/audio volume reduction...(it is a fixed amount picked by Acura engineers).
