Park lockout?

Ok I searched both the manual and this forum but can't find an answer to this. With the V6 and the electronic gear shift, is park locked out when you're moving? With reverse being a "pull up", park is just a downward press and I'm concerned that it's too easy to hit inadvertently while the car is in motion. Anyone know the answer?

Thanks

I see what you're saying, it does seam easy to accidentally press it. But I would assume it would be locked out. I mean if you have the car in drive but stopped and open the door while your seatbelt if off it automatically puts it in park. I would think with that many electronic controls they would have locked it out. I don't plan to go try this though

That's what loaner cars and test drives are for! : )

But seriously, if anyone is bold enough to try this out on their new car- can they also see what happens if one "pulls up" on the electronic parking brake while the car is at speed??
With the old fashioned hand brake- one could very gently introduce rear braking in an emergency... will this electonic switch on the TLX just full-on lock the rear brakes (all or nothing?)- or, will ABS kick in and mitigate the braking, or will nothing happen at all??

It looks like you will be ok based on page 335 of the manual.

Thank you for the link. It answers the original question- and on page 396, it answers my other question with regard to the Electric Parking Brake (activating it while the car is moving activates all 4 brakes and not the parking brake).

Please explain how it is easy to accidentally press these buttons. I cannot see it being a problem.

I haven't personally accidentally pressed it, but lets say someone is removing the USB or something while driving, I could see it accidentally being pressed. But its about as likely as accidentally shifting to neutral from drive in a car with a normal PRND shift lever

The driver removing a USB while in motion is not a good idea, and then accidentally pressing the Park button seems far fetched. But I guess anything is possible, and is distracted driving.
