Mystery track reader

I cannot reliably reproduce this feature ort find anything in the Handbook/Manual about it.

Occasionally, the system will verbally announce the track and song title from the HDD, USB, iPod or radio when a track is changed. Seems to last until the car is turned off. It might be neat feature if there was a setting where is could be turned on or off, but the random nature is unwanted.

Has anyone else had this experience or know anything about it?

That voice appears intermittently on my vehicle (an advance package) to verbally announce an HDD track or a radio station. Sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesn't. It does not announce consistently.

Let's ask that lady that does all the videos. She must know, but then maybe not as it is not predictable.

On XM it only announces the station name; i.e. Deep Tracks, not the artist and song. With HDD and iPod it will say song name. Not consistently though.

There's some point where she stops announcing XM stations, too. I hadn't heard her for a while until I restarted the car the next day. Then, there she was again announcing XM stations. I tend to bounce between my flash drive and XM for music, and that's it.

I have to test a theory. If it receives an XM stations with RDS information then the voice announce is turn on and continues to announce even if switching to CD, HDD, or USB. If it hits a track without associated text then it is turned off. Maybe someone will get to this before me.

Mine works intermittently as well. Once I get used to not hearing from her, she speaks up.

Seems like it only happens after selecting an XM station. Still checking the combinations.

Here's something else ... she dropped dead a couple of times this week while in the middle of announcing an XM station. She got halfway through the station name and ... buh-bye. She seems to come back the next morning when I start the car up again, though.

Women ... smh.

In sound settings, turn the Interface Dial Feedback off. The lady will go away.
The default is set to Auto, and she will read aloud when the car is in motion.
