I work in sales and had a customer come in today and say same problem. I took the key and got the battery swapped out in 3 minutes too to help her out like you!

FYI - it's a standard CR2032 watch battery - easy to pry open the FOB and swap it on your own should you wish.

Not sure - for me it's still cheaper/easier to buy the battery and do it myself as my dealer is 30 miles away from my home.
