Editing ripped CD's in the HDD
Editing ripped CD's in the HDD
Just picked up my new TLX Tech and this morning started the task of ripping all of my CD's to the HDD. This is the third car that I have done and so I know the routine...or so I thought! A few of my CD's are old, and not in the Grace System so they come up as No Name, No Name, No Title. I use to be be able to edit this using the main dial, but that isn't working in this car.
Anyone know how to edit CD info once its on the HDD?
Thanks,

Although you car is new you may want to try updating Gracenotes in the car:
The Official Acura Site for Gracenote Updates
See p183 and p185 of the Navigation Manual for procedures to edit the albub and track names.

No, that won't help. Its an old CD and not very popular, Won't ever be in Gracenotes, I suspect.
I did find out how to edit artist and track but I need to edit album and artist. Use to be able to do that globally throughout all tracks and so I didn't need to enter it each time for each track.

I did find out how to edit CD name but system won't let you edit artist one time for the whole album. A step down from the old system, in my opinion.
I found this method from some other thread on this forum that was quite helpful in alowing me to record CD's that Gracenote does not know (usually older ones). First, rip them using Windows Media Player. WMP carries along the text - this is important. Then they recommended using CDBurnerXP (a free program - found here - https://cdburnerxp.se/en/home). That program allows you to create an audio disc and just before the burning process, there is a box that you check to also include disc text. One other thing, before you burn it, you select disc info at the top where you will have to manually enter the CD title and artist. This works pretty good except that in all cases, I've had to manually enter the album name again, in the car. But at least you only have to do that one entry for the whole album.
