Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)

I wanted to share this with everyone. What a huge difference in the stereo! I also did it to make the engine sound louder as it actively cancels engine and road noise.

Acura TLX Forum
I tried to follow your link to the TLX Forum, but it just goes to the top-level forum. Can you please revise the link to the specific forum topic?

What year is your TLX? I am still looking for a way to disable ANC on my 2018 TLX.

I turned ANC off in my 2015 TLX and it made a huge difference.

ogiewon, does it stay disabled after turning the car off and back on again in the 2018? Do you notice a difference in the sound quality, especially the low end? Thanks

I'll have to go back into the Developer Settings screen to see if it is still listed as OFF. As for the sound difference, I honestly have not noticed much of a difference. I always thought the system sounded pretty good and bass was never "obviously missing" to my non-audiophile ears. I had just heard everyone else saying how much better it sounded, so I thought I'd give it a try. I also have a VCMuzzler installed to disable Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) which was the main reason for Honda/Acura adding ANC, based on my research. As such, I figured why not disable ANC if I could...

It stays off on an 18

I didn't notice much of a difference in sound quality either.

Turning off ANC also turns off the fake engine noise.

As I was driving home on Monday I thought to myself why did Acura need to pipe in engine noise when it already sounds sporty as is. Once I got home I double checked my ANC setting. Sure enough it was back on and I was hearing the piped in engine noise again. Turned it off and noticed again today it was back on.

Sorry for reporting incorrect information above. The ANC does reset to the on position after turning the car off then on again.

I checked mine today as well and agree that ANC seems to turn itself back on automatically.

I will have to check mine and see if it is still on. I have a 2016 BTW.

I tried this the other day and have to say the natural sound of the V6 is really nice under moderate to heavy throttle. If only there was an option to disable the piped engine noise permanently. I do appreciate the ANC though, as it does reduce road noise by a noticeable amount.
