What is missing from our TLX?
I'm going to forgo adding to the technological wish list, because I know that with each added item, also comes a higher MRSP. Acura could most assuredly design a TLX with everything from headsup to night vision, but when the price surpassed or rivaled an RLX, it would no longer be targeting the same audience. That said, I'll stick to basics.
I think Acura still has the possibility of gains in software interactions. I don't mind the touch screen software, and it's improved over the original version the car shipped with, however, there's still optimization to be had here. Why must I press the Fresh Air/Recirculate button only to have yet another window open to press it yet again? Just toggle between the two and create an image with a light in it to represent fresh or recirc'd air.
Why not take advantage of long/short haptic feedback queues? If my seat is on warm, a short tap makes it warmer, continued taps make it warmer yet and then after level 3 turns it off or repeats the cycle over again (if you press it within so many seconds of it turning off)...a long haptic press allows me to open a submenu to manually select cool/warm. If it's been off for a while and you press it, then display the submenu for me to select which I prefer....
I wish they'd take advantage of the full display when in audio mode. Given how huge the screen is why is the artist's name in XM truncated or cut off? Make more use of that space.

I don't understand why Honda truncates title/artist/etc. info. How hard would it have been to allow scrolling, font change, or something. It seems to me that even with all this advancement in tech, they cut corners on some of the simple things.
Motor Trend had a long term test RDX model. They complained about the Sirius/XM truncated title/artist. They contacted Acura for an explanation. Acura responded that there were several ways to implement the Sirius/XM displays. They chose this one since they thought that scrolling the display so it would show the full title/artist would be too distracting to the driver. The Motor Trend writer thought that staring at the truncated display and trying to figure out what it means was more distracting. I personally would like the scrolling or full display.
I'd like something that's a little childish. When changing IDS....
Economy (Green) -> Normal (Blue) -> Sport (Red) -> Sport+ (Red)
I'd like more of the dash to change color. For example, when going into Sport mode, the center indicator's gear status ("D" for example) turns red. I'd like more of the display to looks aggressive.
I wouldn't mind if the display was more dynamic too, which means it would have to be digital. When I drive my SO's Lexus CT200h, the left side of the dash is a tachometer in Sport mode but turns to a fuel-efficiency indicator in Economy mode.
Here's an example in action of the Lexus display.

TLX has enough gadgets with Advances package. I would like to see the following:
1. MT with current model
2. Type S (Turbo) at least 350HP with sports suspensions and few extra gadgets (body skirt and etc)
#2 will make TLX unique and can compete with real sports cars.

I'd like to see simple things like
1. Brake Caliper covers, nothing fancy, but if the RDX can have them, why can't we? We're talking about branding here, so let them be bright RED with white lettering screaming out TLX
2. Foot well lighting
3. Interior lighting to match the driving mode... not just highlighting the gear selection position on dash with a bit of Red background, the whole interior changes 'demeanour' --- Normal mode is blue, Sport is RED, and Sport Plus pulsates to the rhythm of the engine at idle
4. Show me all the tracks of a particular CD that has been ripped into the keg, and not just the current song (I want to know what the next song is)
5. Maybe it's just me, but the tires on the 18" rims could stand to be about 1.5" wider (same aspect ratio). They just look too skinny for my liking (I'd be willing to absorb a little more rolling resistance and minor drop in mileage for this)

my cousin got the TLX... i driven and spent some time in the car because he let me borrowed the car for the weekend... but just in general... it's missing LUXURY...
i know many people have said this... i want acura to a luxury car, not a premium honda.... reliability is important... but when upper division is just like honda is puzzling to me..

You know that Lexus is a premium Toyota, Infiniti isa premium Nissan, Cadillac to Chevy, Lincoln to Ford, etc.
What do you define as luxury? Bentley, Rolls Royce, cars costing $100K or more?
No, it is not missing luxury FOR THE PRICE! You may want the TLX to be luxury but do you want to pay 10's of thousands more?
I find the TLX to be just right where it should be.
ps. What model did you drive?

Lexury is very subjective, Can you please elaborate?
My friend has 5 seris BMW, i think 2012, it doesnt have ACC, LKAS, back up sensors, blind spot monitor...And I honestly like the ride quality of TLX better. I think he paid close to 60K. At that price you must feel luxury.
FWIW, TLX is only little bit more than accord, so you cant really expect it to be Gulfstream.

Yes, very subjective
No Stew, Thats just a docoration piece, no way a 2015 Automobile has a Cassette player. I meant CD player.
Seriously, where do u even buy CDs these day. yard sales?? There WAS tower record near my house, but it has been LONG gone.

I still buy them. I appreciate sound quality over convenience when it's available. Today, it seems portability is most important
So much is lost when Analog to Digital is done and is very audible. I still buy LP's and play them often.
Oh well, I hope they keep that slot in cars for years to come but I expect they won't

While the TLX handles better, it does have its issues.
Long time stalker, thought I'd chime in with my wish list. Currently driving a 2011 X3 but with my wife now driving a new '15 Outback, we don't need two crossovers. I'm holding out for 2016 TLX and I'm hoping for:
- Type-S or A-Spec trim. Acura doesn't even need to add a new trim level. Update the Elite/Advance package to come standard with the aero kit, deck spoiler and 19" wheels. Tweak the suspension for a sportier ride. Add beefier brakes. Bump up the MSRP.
- Surround View camera system. I have this on my X3 (no front camera) and I find it extremely handy in tight parking situations. Also helps prevent curb rashes.
- Catalina Blue Pearl. Love the color on the updated ILX. Hopefully the rest of the Acura line gets it.
That said, I'm pretty certain I will be trading in my X3 when the 2016s are out. I'm not keeping that thing out of warranty. Even if nothing on my wish list comes true, the TLX still fits the bill pretty nicely for my needs.

Lincoln is exactly like Acura....in fact is not even considered a luxury brand.
What the TLX offers nowadays can be had with the latest mainstream sedans, including AWD...it does not offer any differentiation anymore.
The TLX moved downstream de-contenting where some midsize sedans are moving upstream.
For example, on the Chrysler web site I optioned a Chrysler 200 295 HP V6 AWD to the hilt and with current incentives the price is 34.5......and if you think its interiors are any less luxurious than a TLX I have a bridge in New York to sell, open pore wood, Nappa leather.....if you have time check it out.....the leather in the seats is probably even better...latest tech, it can park itself (parallel and perpendicular), panoramic roof, electric adjustment for the steering wheel, the best infotainment system in the market, etc...
The new Malibu and the upcoming Focus will have 9 speed transmission, AWD (the Ford has it already) and a 300 HP Ecoboost version for the Focus.

^ Does Nissan own Infiniti, yep. Toyota own Lexus? Yep.
You can't get it in your head that the TLX is not an Accord, can you?
I am sorry if that doesn't fit your HATE_ACURA agenda. Do you get some sort of satisfaction out of this?

I do not care if it is an Accord or not (structurally is based on the Accord but that is beside the point, the TL was based on the Accord too) or if Honda is holding the Accord back vs. the competition to leave some space to the TLX.
The only objective thing is that the TLX is now basically on par with some mainstream sedans, it barely offers any differentiation....reliability reputation is basically the only thing left, hardly a premium brand purchase motivator.
Going back on topic, what is missing on the TLX for being a real premium sport sedan?? A lot....

Wow, you guys all have low standards. What the TLX needs is:
1. Twin turbo V12
2. Full carbon monocoque body
3. 6MT option
4. 4000w stereo system, with 20 speakers
5. ejection seats for annoying passengers
6. license plate flipping device
7. interior materials made of endangered animals
8. beer tap on the dash, with keg in the trunk
9. racing stripes
10. air suspension
11. fuzzy dice hanging from the rear view mirror.
Fuck yeah.

How old are you?? Am I hating Acura?? (interesting since my last car was an Acura!!!)

Again, you interject your opinion as if it is some kind of fact.. never using the "I think" nor "I believe" which would be more appropriate in your diatribes.
I am not defending Acura but just tired of your insistence we know your "facts". Of course Acura could do better as all car brands could.
Anyway, I'll not respond to your silly posts from now on. Carry on with your always negative posts

HAHA! Nice attempt at deflecting.. All one has to do is read your posts. So please, don't act all upset and offended. It's so obvious. We all know that you think that Acura sucks.. ad nauseum..

I report specs for car which are, in fact, facts....then we can debate these facts all you want.
Is not a matter of if Acura "sucks" or not (no idea of where you got that notion reading my posts but ok I guess), Acura simply made a decision of not trying to be a real luxury brand anymore and aligning its products accordingly...and the TLX is pretty much a product of this "not pursuing being a tier 1 brand anymore" philosophy.
As a former owner of Acura and knowing what Acura can really do it's sad to see this...but there is not sentiment of "hate" or "love"...I moved on like many others that still hang out in the forum.
The TLX is basically a mainstream midsize sedan nowadays, maybe one of the best mainstream midsize sedan in the market if you wish....but nothing more.
We can say that, for example, what Chrysler offers in only one model (the 200) Honda offer is split in two, the Accord at the low end and the TLX as top of the range...same for Ford (Focus + Focus Titanium trim + Lincoln MKZ)
Do not fool youself the TLX is a 3 Series, IS, Q50, ATS, A4, MB C Class or Jaguar XE fighter because is not....even the poorly received Mercedes CLA (a very overpriced middle of the road front driver) manages to get an AMG version to try to raise the bar.
You must be one of the few truly believers if you got a TLX after owning a GS350....
