I was almost stranded today. I dropped my wife off across town so she could car pool to an out of town event she is going to for the next 5 days. We got to the meeting location early so we got out to chat with one of the other car poolers. I decided to go back to the car and roll the windows down and listen to some XM tunes. I then found I did NOT have my key fob. I keep my key fob on a hook near the garage door and grab it when I go out to the car. My wife keeps her key fob in her purse all the time. So when I started the car to drive to the meet I was actually using her key fob. Luckily my wife was still chatting and they had not left yet - so I retrieved her key fob so I could drive home. If I had not gone back to the car I when I did I would have been stranded about 20 miles from my home with no way to drive my car. I guess I would have had to take a taxi home.

That is the downside of keyless start/stop.

Just image if you had parked illegally at the airport and helped her inside with her bags. She could have been past security, and phone turned off. Now you would have to deal with towing charges, maybe an unlocked car, plus a two way trip to go and get your remote.

First real highway trip today of about 140km there and back. Great tunes on the HD, quiet car, smooth and plentiful acceleration for passing, and 6.8 litres/100k fuel consumption at about 107 km per hour average speed. For my US friends, that's over 33 mpg at 66 mph average speed. I was impressed.

Did the car not beep? When I get out to pump gas, my car beeps 1-2 seconds after I close the driver door.

^The car was turned off and they both exited it, so no beep. It you leave it in AUX and exit there is a warning beep.

I drove home from the airport one evening without heavy traffic. About 30 mile trip 1 way. On normal mode, i managed to get 35.9 mpg over 60-65 mph speed...with V6 SH-AWD!
...will need to test that out on sport mode next time!
Other than that, my normal commute i average around 27mpg combined.

On a side note, i finally saw a couple TLX on the road! I think they're kind of rare to see in the Denver area and i make 50 mile round trip commute everyday. Have a feeling I'll start seeing more over the next few months as Acura will need to start selling/getting rid of 2015 inventory to allow room for 2016 models.

Same here . I did a round trip Montreal-Ottawa-Montreal , last week and at avg speed of 119km/h (I know is not legal hahaha) I was getting 6.8 l/100km also (very impressed) , but on my daily commute on Sport+ ( I cannot drive it otherwise due a laggy transmition ..) I'm averaging somewhere between 12-13l/100km, not too far from my old 2009 TL (both SH-AWD).
On the other hand, it's true the old TL on the same highway trip I was getting about 9-10l/100km.

Unfortunately , on my daily commute I wouldn't see too much "economy" on my pocket

Mine is also SH_AWD. I will be driving the same route tomorrow in my 2.5 2014 Altima with CVT, and will be able to compare. Winds should be similar.

I don't find transmission issues like I used to and part of that is getting used to the car and breaking it in. However, if you are pickier about this than I am, and I suspect you are, I am surprised that Sport wouldn't work for you. I take it that you are not in stop and go on your commute, as ECO works fine in those conditions. Alternatively, you could retire as I just did and avoid rush hour commutes

Yes ,I'm pickier because I was spoiled by my 2009 TL regarding the transmition and throttle response .
Maybe , if I would had other car before I would consider TLX a "snappy" one , but because of this new 9 speed transmition , is not , at least compared with 2009 TL.

Retire ? I still have long way to go..

I know it takes some getting used to but let me help you:

6.8L/100km = 34.5 miles per US gallon
12-13L/100km = 19.5-18 miles per US gallon
9-10L/100km = 26-23.5 miles per US gallon

Hope this helps

For comparison, I drove the same route at the same speed in similar conditions yesterday as I did Tuesday, in my 2014 2.5 Altima (CVT), rated at or near the top of its class for fuel economy. I achieved a 6.8 litres/100 km in my TLX SH-AWD, and 6.4 in my Altima, or 34.6 mpg vs 36.8 mpg in US mpg numbers. Pretty darn impressive for the 3.5 SH-AWD!!

That's a lot of numbers

I'll go along with the exceptional (as far as I'm concerned) mileage on this car. I got about 34 MPG last month on a 150 mile drive to visit family and almost identical 33 MPG on the return trip. I'm still at 25.5 MPG for the entire life of my car and that includes a lot of short commutes to work and back. It blows the tires off the mileage I was getting with my CTS, and the performance is, in my opinion, on par and exceeding it in the twisties by a long shot.

Very happy at this point, and luckily I can play with all the IDS modes and have no real issues with any of them.

New plate and took off the wonky TLX badge. It was throwing off the symmetry! What say y'all?

I took an 11 by 11 rolled up carpet, (and some old oil, paint and propane bottles) to the dump :-). Too long to get in Land Rover. It hung out the back a bit.

Took Becky to a wedding, then the beach for the first time. Avoided a sandy interior, even with a rowdy teen in tow. 400 mile round trip, got 37.5 MPG average in Sport, even with some traffic.

On the way home from work last night, i was flipping through the information settings and noticed the TPMS on the driver front was down to 24 pounds. Put air in the tire last night to 30 pounds. The tire was down this morning and took it to the dealer. Picked up something in the tire where it couldnt be fixed.

Good news is i got the wheel coverage and the new tire was covered. Buying exteneded warranty is not something I typically do, but I did it because I love the wheels on the TLX and if they get curbed I want to get them fixed.

New tire is on, I am still negative on the warranty, but it worked some for me today.

I've been driving around in Econ mode for a little over a week and it's perfect. After I got over the initial shock of OMGIT'SSOSLOWITNEVERRESPONDS, I've found that I really enjoy how relaxed it is. I had it in sport mode for a quick work errand yesterday and I forgot how sensitive the throttle could be. I sneezed while turning out of a parking lot and I swear the car almost choked off ... if that's even possible?

^ After trying all the modes, I use Econ now too unless I'm really "out for a drive", which is rarely. Econ is so much more forgiving in slow moving / stop and go traffic, which is most of my commute. Once you get used to the sensitivity later on in the throttle, it's easy to get moving when you need to.

I played with the radio a bit today and discovered that selecting Audio then FM, Enter, and then Menu brings up a list of available station. Where information is available it also hows the category of the station. I knew this process worked for XM but had not tried it with FM or any of the the other audio selections.

I still like discovering the little gems in the car.

^ I'm going to try that! I haven't programmed any FM stations because I use XM all the time, but it's a good backup.

A spider took up residence in my passenger side-view mirror. Making webs and all. It was either my mirror or the spider. Hopefully, nobody will leave me bad Yelp reviews.

I took my TLX to the dealer to get a spare tire kit and rear spoiler. Super happy except they did the worlds worst job washing my car, looks even dirtier than when I dropped it off.

Worst nightmare. I almost wish they wouldn't offer it instead of doing a crappy job. Sometimes it's worth telling them not to wash it! Lol

I discovered that I really like the 2.4 wheels when in motion. I was at the car wash and the attendant was driving it to the final detailing area. The sun was out and the wheels really looked sharp.

Just thought I'd mention it since someone always seems to be bashing our wheels

That's always the first comment when someone new happens upon my 2.4! "I don't like the wheels..." Well....BOOOOO to you! haha

Becky's an hour away from me. Waaaaah. Somehow, a door seal popped loose and the passenger seatbelt worked itself loose also, so my cabin got real noisy! It's behind handle. Should have her home soon.

In other news, this SH-AWD TLX I'm driving is amazing. I hate that it's been trashed as a loaner though. It's so gross inside, but the power delivery is nice. I'm 100% sure I don't ever want a V6 until they refine that transmission doe.

I took a girl out on a first date. We are both 23 and it was a blind date so technically never met her. I already knew the date was going to be a hit since the first minute of meeting her as I walked from her house door to my car door (yep passenger door to open for her like a gentleman) and she made a comment on how nice my car looked! Set the tone right then and there. Yes the date went incredibly well, Ill be picking her up again this week!
