^^^ I don't understand why this happens. I have been the victim of vandalism and things of this nature many times and it just plain sucks. I think it ultimately boils down to the fact that fewer and fewer people respect the property of others. I hope you're able to get your door repaired and it never gives you any problems from that point forward.

Had a 2-day business trip and opted to take the TLX. Weather was crap driving down but cleared up the next day, so I opted to drive through the Bavarian Alps instead of around them. It was an absolute blast! Unfortunately, there was enough ice and snow still on the road that I didn't want to push my luck through the twists and turns. I'll definitely be back in the summer, though. There's some amazing spots to camp, hike and kayak, and of course the roads

Wow, beautiful scenery in an amazing part of Europe!

Did you have to get the car shipped from North America or can you actually get TLX's in Germany?

This has got to be one of the best photos posted of the car. The gorgeous blue skies and snow capped mountains are the perfect backdrop for the white TLX.

We shipped it over you don't see many Acura's and Honda's here, and to date I haven't seen another TLX. It definitely gets a lot of looks, though!

This is my 2nd Acura to hit this number in less than 12 months. Still have 40% oil life left. Too bad it'll be back in Acura's hands before I ever get to change it!

Well I just had my second windshield chip repaired today (sigh...). This one looked like a bullet hole!

Tomorrow I'm taking the car in for my navi update, cross-traffic monitoring system alert, and tranny park issue recalls. It will be fun to have a loaner for the day, but it will be nice to have my car back and finally have these recalls taken care of.

Finally had to bite the bullet and run CoCo through a wash. The birds are just having a field day!

Also, I've decided to spend the last couple weeks I have with CoCo in Sport+ mode and goodness gracious! I love this car.

Another BCP pulled up behind me this morning after my run. They were checking CoCo out, and when I waved, they flashed me a thumbs up. It was awesome.

Same here. I had a possible sighting a month ago but was too far away to say for certain. I see a fair number of 4G TL's and even a few 3G's though.

So. The washer fluid ran out! But, I don't want to put anymore in there because I'm in the home stretch with getting it replaced. Crested 7k miles yesterday. Hopefully this whole process wraps up by the end of the month. I'm so tired of waiting!

Added some stainless exhaust tips. Going to add matte black tips to match my wheels next week. These were just to see how they would look before I welded the black ones on.

Side profile. These tips are 5.5 inches long. They stick out just a little to far for me. The matte black tips I am having custom made. They are 5 inches even. I think that will look just right peeking out from the bumper.

^^ It is hard to tell by the few pics. What I normally like about dual exhaust is the integration of the tips with a diffuser but just the tips on their own may not just quite do it, especially if they are point down rather than being perfectly horizontal.

To be fair, I know that that things look MUCH better in person than in photos so it may be totally be great, just hard to tel from these shots.

Different strokes for different folks. You could not pay me to have that installed on my car. But then again I would not have it lowered 2" with 20" chrome wheels installed.

If it works for then then go for it.

Yeah the pics are not the greatest. Just a few quick shots with my iPhone. I know what you mean about the diffuser. Unfortunately I don't think the aftermarket will produce anything. Those stainless tips were just something I had in the shop. I just slid them over to see what it would look like. I saw an Audi with down turned black tips and it looked cool. The matte black tips I am making are shorter. Basically instead of seeing the plain metal unfinished looking tips that you catch from certain angles they will be smoother looking and black with beveled edges and double walled. I should have them done next week. Will post better quality pics. The stainless tips were just a mock up.

I may just cut the bumper and have them come straight out. If you look underneath there are small factory heat shields above the tips. I could do cut outs and have them come straight out. With the double wall construction, heat will not be an issue. Some guys in the ILX forum have gone this way with good looking results. Something to ponder...

On a more conservative note, I picked up my car after tinting today and it looks great. I won't bore you with pics as it's been done many times by other posters. One thing i noticed after being away for 5 days while the car was in was how much I missed driving it and how the 9 speed felt good. Less hyper focus on the first two shifts will do that.

This morning on my way to work, I was behind a 4G TL and in front of a 2G TSX. I felt validated.

Now you would have been violated if you had started out ahead but both passed you along the way. Better to have moved the the front and shown them you rear end with no exhaust tips!

So today I went to HOme Depot with a neighbour. I let him drive the car home. He is a very knowledgeable car guy and absolutely loved the car inside and out. He found the nine speed shifted very smoothly and enjoyed the quick response to throttle. It reinforced a few things for me, most noticeably the hyper focus on the first two shifts of the 9 speed. I described the issue before he got in the car.

Saw something today, I'd never seen before
Had my TLX, in for a wash & detailing
2014 Mercedes 300, comes out of the Carwash, with a Blowout, in the sidewall, size of a quarter!
Owner freaked; CW Manager, assured him the tire would be replaced, on Monday
Owner basically said STFU; I want it fixed TODAY/Sunday
Freaky, but real; major bummer

There must be so much more information to this event. A quick response from the manager suggests that it is not the first time this has happened, but what could cause that to happen. I doubt that I could use a 9" length of blunt rebar and a hammer to inflict a blowout with one strike.

I've dinged my painted wheels on the "guide rails" of a drive through car wash before and it was a bummer and my fault, but how could something in a car wash cause a blowout? That would be pretty upsetting and I'd be wanting a quick resolution as well.

Thanks for these pics. I've been thinking about doing something similar but wasn't sure how it'll look.

I should NOT have looked at this thread. I'm about to take Becky to the spa AKA Autobell! I just don't have to scrub her down properly, and she's getting coated later in the summer sooooo I might as well be a little lazy. Laaaaawd please protect my rims and tires!
