[QUOTE=acurafreez;15276235]So as it turns out, I did not buy the car. The whole thing took a rather dramatic turn at the time of delivery./QUOTE]
That warrants a call to Better Business Bureau. Must be extremely disappointing.

I am severely annoyed at the behavior of the Sales Manager. I've started writing to the top management of Toyota/Lexus in Canada, North America and Japan. Don't really know how responsive these guys are, but we'll find out.
The biggest disappointment is that for a few thousand dollars, they'll ruin a brand. This is the second bad Lexus experience I've had in less than 4 months. Last time a completely moron Sales rep lost my vehicle registration while trying to do a trade in appraisal.
May be I'll just trade in my Lexus truck as well and get a Honda van to meet the family needs.
Or perhaps, I've not really reflected on the saying that the source of all misery in life is high expectations.

Sorry to hear! If you really like the GS, keep looking and I'm sure you'll find just what you're looking for. I know after your experience you may want to steer clear of Lexus all together - but I'd say don't judge an entire brand off of one bad dealership. See if there are other dealers within a relatively short drive of where you live and email them to see if they have any good deals on leftover 2014 GS's.

You've already considered the TLX as well though - so that is perhaps an option to buy the Acura.

I was never a Lexus/Toyota fan but I had a similar nightmare service experience with not 1 or 2 but 3 local Ford dealers. The experiences were so bad that I now refuse to buy or recommend Ford products to anyone!

I recently purchased a 2015 TLX SH-AWD and have loved it from day one. The car is awesome and the service team at the local Acura dealer seams to be knowledgeable and responsive!

So what to buy now? After the Lexus dealership foul up, I'm not getting a GS, at least until I move from my current location.
While some people have shown some leap of faith and bought the TLX, I'm somewhat wary of buying the first year model with some noticeable complaints.
I'm leaning towards picking up a new TL SHWAD Elite. I'll miss out on the tech, but it least it has blind spot monitoring and better reliability record than the TLX.
What would be a good price for a new 2014 TL SHAWD Elite/Advanced in Canada?

From unhaggle, MSRP is $49590 and invoice is $45623. There's also $8500 in incentives, so I would think something like $39000 after fees/PDI but before tax. The hard part might be finding one.

Reliability record for the TLX? Did I miss something?

By the way, aren't there forums for the TL? May be a better place for your questions.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but the post implied the TL had a better reliability record than the TLX. It may, but it's a little early to tell.

Same here! Ford has the absolute worst service departments! I will never buy another Ford product again!
