TLX Price Increase?
I noticed this the other day... it appears that the TLX pricing has increased slightly within a few months of release. Is this normal? I thought trim pricing only increased during a new model year (2016)... not months after initial release. perhaps, introductory pricing? interesting...

Maybe they are charging more, so that in 2016 they will provide a trouble free transmission with the purchase of the car?

Last year, the 2015 RDX had three price increases.

My sales guy told me the prices would be higher in 2015 - I assumed he was "just sayin that" in order to push me along the sales path.
Hmpf.

They also raised dealer cost, so you're somewhat 'treading water' but at a slightly higher starting point.

The increase is $450 for the 4 cyl, but only $100 for the 6. I noticed that my local dealers' online inventory systems are only showing a few 4's in stock, and many, many 6's. Since I figure that I am saving over $400 a month driving my fully depreciated and paid for 04 TSX, I am not too bothered by the price increase. I hope the reported transmission problems are worked out for the FY 16 models. Better tires and wheels on the 4's would be a great added bonus. Since gas may be about a buck a gallon by then, maybe I will splurge, and go for the 6.
Actually, the only items I really want from the 6 are the 8 way adjustable passenger seat, and the better looking wheels.

I think the price should be higher than what we early adopters paid. We are Acura's beta testers.

Need to find some way to cover the costs from all their recalls and the $70 million fine.

Interesting - I don't recall a manufacturer increasing MSRP during a model year. Looks like Acura does it (reference the comment on the RDX). Maybe others have also, but I sure don't recall any.

It's not super common, but I recall the TSX having several changes within the year when the yen was going 'crazy'. Of course, the current product is NA based to changes must reflect other things in play.

Price increases used to be normal marketing strategy for high end cars in the 80s and 90s. But now, who knows other than the marketing and accounting departments at any given manufacturer. Infiniti seems to have a strategy of several price drops during the life cycle of their models. Acura, seems to do the opposite as demand increases.
With the value of the Euro and it's projected drop (already 10%) expect significant price drops from the Germans.....I have to wonder how the Japanese manufacturers plan to react to this.

I am guessing the TLX price increases are in preparation for the 16 ILX introduction which most likely will also be receiving price increases with the increased trim levels.

Maybe Seinfeld's coffee show got a bit more expensive? Just me being bad, again - lol.

...didn't someone post that already?

Personally, I don't see too much of a problem if top line ILX models overlap base TLX models. However, comparable trim levels should have an appropriate gap in price. A current base ILX is $27,960, could the new model carry a list of 28,960? This is a pretty sizable gap to a base TLX. It's really hard to say cause there are so many 'balls in the air' right now.

This is correct, TLX 2.4L base and Tech models going up $450-475 per model on units shipping now. If you can find an in stock unit pre-price increase, buy it now.
It was underpriced to start with and given the extreme demand for 2.4L models vs. V6 versions, there's no need not to bump the price a bit for economies of scale, and keep the V6 only $100 more.
Will help differentiate between the massively upgraded ILX to be out soon too, now offering the same power train, etc. and give a bit more distance between the 2.
The 2.4L Tech car at $359xx...is and was such as a screaming "are you kidding?" deal vs. any other competitor out there, even a few hundred dollars more will keep it the same. Nothing else offers that configuration of refinement, performance or features for anywhere near the cost, without crazy option packages.

all Honda prices went up in Canada this month...CRV Touring went up $750. Not that uncommon...well 750 is. Prices here are still broadly the same as 8 or 9 years ago. The collapsing Canadian Dollar, nudging 80 cents today, may change things further. I think Honda Canada pricing presumes 90 cents. Right now many models are cheaper than in the US. and better equipped.
