TLX predictions
I would like to know what many of you think about the new TLX that will be coming out later this year? Do you think it will be car that will finally have what it takes to compete with the germans or not?

Yes, but I disagree with your premise about "finally." I considered the Germans and bought my TL because for the things that were important for me, it more than "competed" with them. I think the TLX will be a big hit if the packages/pricing are correct.

^^ I like to live on the edge and predict that the TLX will outsell the RLX.

I think the TLX will be a hit, but as for compete with the Germans, not likely. These cars have different target demographics. The Germans have brand and image cache that Acura can not catch yet. That does not mean the TLX will not be a great car, just means there are people that will buy German for the image and brand. There are people that cross shop Acura with the Germans, but I suspect more are ex-German owners that got burned by reliability and/or costly maintenance or repairs and want a more reliable Asian brand.
Oh wait I predict it will outsell the RL ;-)

I'm currently working numbers with multiple dealers on a custom order 335i xDrive loaded (~$60 MSRP). In the fall, I drove a 335i xDrive M-Sport with a ton of goodies then went directly to the Acura dealer and drove a loaded TL SH-AWD. While the TL was competent, the suspension just wasn't close. That is what I fear about the TLX.

This car NEEDS to be a hit....but no competition to the Germans. That's a pipe dream.

I'd say that's a fair assessment. On the plus side, it leaves a huge room for Acura to play in. In today's automotive climate where SUVs and crossovers still rule the roost, 50,000 units for the TLX would be pretty darn good.

No, I believe the glory days of 60-70K unit sales are over for the TL; too much competition in the sub $50K market now. Acura effectively flushed 5 years of potential brand building down the can with the 4G.
Don’t think the TL competes with the Germans. While TL people might also look at the German cars the people buying German brands with some Lexus cars in the mix don’t typically look at the TL. Think the RLX sales performance clearly shows that Acura is not relevant in head to head price competition against the Germans.
A traditionally designed 4G TL with half the price increase they laid on it would have brought them closer to being a player, trying to make the leap from the value priced alternative to player in one jump was a very poor marketing decision.
