After having the cbp 6 speed type s for 10 ish years I took a leap and bought the Pmc. So far I'm very impressed. Luxury feel, great handling with nice pickup. Not a race car but very sporty sedan with really nice features.
Any other PMC owners? If anyone with a pmc in NY wants to do a photoshoot send me an email. Carbonbronzes24@gmail.com
Somebody actually bought one of these?! I did not think that we would see one around here. Congrats! Did you pay MSRP or were you able to work out a deal?
I love that paint color on the TLX! Make sure you PPF and ceramic coat that baby up. Too bad Acura didn't up the power to the RLX number of 310hp / 273tq. Make the TLX a 6MT with the higher RLX HP/TQ and I think they would have been sold out before production started.
Congrats the color is stunning in person. I saw one at Acura of Wappinger Falls on Saturday.. They have sold two and just received their third. I can easily see why someone would want to acquire one.
That is a very beautiful color. I saw one in person earlier this year when we bought our RDX. The dealer had a $1000 AMV on it thus it was still sitting on their showroom floor.
My favorite car, especially the color and love that it has the accessories of Tech, Aspec and Advance all in this model and on top hand build. Very nice.
Nice color! I'm curious, did they give you any special instructions on paint care?
I dont think it requires any special care, depending on how anal the owner is...
if the owner cares about the paint, then he or she will not take it through automatic car washes and will not let dirty rags/microfiber cloths touch the car.
if the owner cares about the paint, he or she will wash using a two bucket method with grit guards in each bucket. a pressure washer with foam attachment. taking care to pay attention to microfiber cloths, any spec of sand/dirt will mar the finish.
if he or she drops the cloth on the ground, cannot reuse it...grab a new cloth.
100% agreed and that is the right way to protect that nice of a paint or for the matter of fact any paint other most easy way would be to clear film the whole car to be protected against any chips that occur due to debri, small stones and sand. Paint is the most stunning part in PMC. I wish it was available in mid of 2019 I would have pull the plug but came later in 2019 and I already got 2019 TLX Aspec Sh-AWD. But I am very happy with mine so no complaints.
but let's face it...there are not that many anal retentive owners out there.
The exterior is the very first thing that people tend to overlook when caring for their vehicle. Because it takes time.
Most people are lazy and would rather not wash the car for many many months, or not pay that close of attention to the finer details of proper washing techniques.
Most people just dont have the time or attention to detail when washing their cars.
especially if people dont have the correct equipment.
I forgot to add, microfiber weave drying towels have changed my life. if someone is using old school techniques with a chamois, you can bet their car will have micromarring and swirls in the paint
Well true but if I see it from my prospective I will tell you that my TLX purchased in 06/2019 still has not seen any rain or snow I already done so much to it meaning genuine add on accessories. I like to detail it by myself and once in a while if I like to take it to a wash that has to be a touchless which I do not do on regularly but once in a while. I have got some of the microfiber towels from Chemical Guys and man they are awesome but normally I buy my micro fiber towels from costco as I get 36 towels pack for $15. I do not dress up the exterior but the interior, trunk and engine should be as clean as the exterior. For engine cleaning I learned a trick and does miracles and I really love it. Now sometimes you get scratches and swirls I know how to remove those like a professional will do. Although my TLX's front end is covered in clear bra which I did it when I purchase the car.

How much does it cost to clear film the car? How do you find a reputable place? Is that worth it over keeping it regularly waxed?

A lot. To do a whole car can easily cost $3,000-$5,000 depending on factors such as the quality and what not. I got my TLX clear bra from A pillar forward and I paid $1,600 which was the average price (I shopped around) and went to a reputable shop with great reviews.
Armarol Tire Foam it not only clean but make the engine shine as well. Spray it on the entire engine leave it for about 5 minutes and than with a rag just wipe off. it will not make the rubber dry or cracked as well. such as hoses etc. Hope this help.

Absolutely. I recently bought a ~13 year old car and while the color is amazing and generally looks good from 10++ ft out....up close and on the front there are lot of imperfections....which is fine for most daily beaters...though for certain kinds of cars the resalue value can tank really hard if the exterior is not that great.
It is very important to maintain exterior, from brand new, to keep it up...because it costs a crap ton to respray/paint-match body panels and fix up lots of imperfections years down the road...especially if the total cost is running close 30% of more of the current market value of the car.....
