We've had our new TLX for about a month now and drove about 1,000 kilometres to date. We park in the garage and since the beginning, we've noticed the car has a strong smell after we park it. I think it's coming from the engine area. It's not quite a burning smell, or chemical smell, I can't quite come up with a description of how it smells though. So just wondering if you guys with your new Acura's also noticed this 'unusual new car smell' too and if it will hopefully go away soon.

 

Yes it's the new car smell. If you drove the car spirited, then you'll smell this "new car" smell.

 

 

there was no additional undercoat added, just whatever came from the factory. I suppose I should hose off underneath the car too next time I wash it.

 

^no need. over time, the initial coatings and oils will "burn off"
