TLX caught testing in China!

Oh my goodness! Look at the front bumper and fog light in the Chinese TLX:

http://www.carnewschina.com/2014/02/...ting-in-china/

Even though it's highly camouflaged, you can still see the fog light design in the Chinese TLX.... that said, the Chinese Acura's often have different bumper/fog light designs anyway (think MDX) so perhaps we will get a different design than this in NA!?

Thanks, nice find. It looks like those wheels might be production versions of the blacked outs ones we've seen in older spy shots. Yes the NA version may be different. Some of the body lines look a little different but that may be part of the camo.

I saw that too yesterday.

But I have a problem with the legitimacy of these pictures.

Why do they erase the background or the bottom of the pictures?

I think the article is fake and the pictures are fake. My thoughts.

PS. I think its the old RLX spy pictures, very heavily photoshoped. The reason the bottom is cut off is to erase the KGPSpyPhotography watermark.

I would be surprised if they put traditional fog lights on it and ruin the look of the jewel eye lights. Now a nice DRL driving light strip would be nice, like the prototype.

Keith, believe or not, Acura DID do it to the MDX in China - they put in the regular fog lights - please take a look here:

So that's why it would not surprise me at all if they would do this to the TLX in China too........

I have to agree that it looks more like an RLX to me. The slope of the hood and the lines just scream mutant RLX. I don't know.

The pics do look a bit odd with all those areas removed. But the RLX grill has two chevrons below the emblem, this grill has one chevron, more like the ILX grill. And these wheels match the older TLX test mule wheels except those were totally blacked out. The quarter panels have odd bumps on them which I think is part of the camo. But after showing the prototype, why the extreme camo?

I think I count 5 elements in the headlights and there is only a fine slit vice the RLX lights which have dual elements. And why is the camo cut out from this spot on the bumper? Is there a radar element behind there?

Well looks like Acura went and ruined a good thing. At least there will be after market LED bulbs to put in there to match the LED headlights.

Get rid of the small left over shield and this really reminds me of the 3G. Acura Dump the Shield!

If this is it, then they have removed the emotional feeling that one should have about the car that they have built their theme around. Hard to get emotional about hidden tail pipes, those rims, the rear bumper etc. It seems they took what they believed to be the good things from the 4g and molded it with the 3g and slapped some lipstick on it (jewel beam headlights).

Well...This thread was right all along and despite thinking Acura wouldn't put standard fog lights, I guess they went with it.

So Keith....I have to agree with you. I am quite disappointed.....

Thank goodness for the "aftermarket". LED bulbs, wheels and body kit (RonJon, are you listening!) would bring back the magic of the prototype.
