TLX A/C Performance??
TLX A/C Performance??
Can you 2.4L and V6 owners kindly comment on your TLX A/C performance?
Does it cool nicely?
Do you feel the engine bog down when the compressor kicks in?
Any complaints or A/C problems that required warranty work?
I'm coming from a 1.8L Civic which is infamous for poor A/C performance.
My wife's 2007 Camry has the best A/C I've ever come across, especially compared tothe previous 5 Honda products I've owned.

V6 here - I don't feel the AC come on at all, I think the engine is way too powerful (literally about 2x your civic engine lol). ACC seems to work pretty well (it gets tapered down in Econ mode though), however it hasn't been summer yet, so can't say for sure.
We've had a couple warm ones here in NC, and the A/C has performed flawlessly. I've actually noticed that this car keeps the cabin cooler in general, even with the temperature cranked higher.
No engine bogging, no noises, nothing crazy has happened.

Did you get your *new* TLX then? Is it exhibiting any of the old problems you had?

V6 TLX is nothing like that, you wouldn't even notice that the compressor is on. Hasn't been blasted hot here yet, but I don't expect any problems from what I've experienced so far.

I also noticed while testing the ECO mode, the AC performance does reduce. However I usually drive on Sport and Normal and have never noticed the compressor turning ON and OFF. My previous Accord was a 2.4 and on that car you could hear and feel the difference. I think its a more of a 4 cylinder thing but I might be wrong.
More of the same - V6 SH-AWD Tech, and there is no noticeable change as it comes on and off. Totally transparent. If anything, it keeps the car colder than I'd expect when set to 70.
For what its worth - people saying that AC is a 4-cylinder/small engine problem - I don't think it's the case. My last car was a 2012 2.0L i4 Kia Optima and I never felt the AC engage on it either, and the AC worked great.
I know it's not the same car, but the point is smaller engine doesn't HAVE to imply AC bogging engine down - I'd be surprised if the 4-cyl TLX has any problems in that department.

I've had my V6 TLX Advance since the end of last August when it was around 100 degrees and I had no issues with cooling. As a matter of fact, I was ecstatic with the ability to cool off relatively quicker with the vented seats.

So far I love mine and I think it's working extremely well. I haven't been able to experience the blistering heat yet, but the heater works great. I also noticed how fast the front windshield will defrost even before the engine heats up. I don't know if there's some type of electric heat just for that or what, but it defrosts almost immediately. (At least for me it seems to

Any 2.4 owners with some miles on it have an update? I am concerned about this as my Civic Si (2.0l ) is brutal with the A/C on, vibration, wacky shift rpms, headlights flickering, loud ass compressor. It got worse as the miles accumulated. It runs fine just feels so cheap and unrefined.
Hondas have a pretty loud compressor system and am hoping the Acura is more refined and they balanced out the 2.4 vibrations. Test drives are too short to really indicate long-term behavior.

A/C Climate Control
Best of the 6 Acura's I've had
Actually switches from Closed Vents to fresh Air, as needed
Love the Cooling & Heating options
Temp. actually is on target
Check out my 1st Detail, from today

Coming up on 14,000 miles and the AC still works great in the South Florida Heat in my I4. When in Auto mode, the fan speeds up as needed. I noticed today it cooled rather quickly and only 1 increment of the fan light was on. Usually upon getting into the car it starts out at 5.

I have noticed, now we have hot weather that unlike every other auto climate control car I have had or experienced, on start up it does not wait for the a/c system to have some cold in it for the fan to go full tilt. So for what seems several minutes it blasts hot air at you before making any effort to cool the car. Its actually pretty uncomfortable - anyone else experience this? once cooling it is fine.
Living here in Tampa, I use the A/C basically every time I get in the car. I noticed for the first time yesterday that water was leaking from the center A/C vents. The silver part is usually always cold but I noticed for the first time water dripping down. I wiped it but it didn't stay dry. I only had the temp at 70. The system works very well, I never really have it any colder than 70. Usually I just leave it on 72 and let it do its thing.
A/C on this car has been as good if not better than any of my German cars, and very unlike the anemic systems that Japanese cars used to be frequently criticized for.
I have a 4 cylinder TLX today as a loaner, and it too has a powerful, and ice cold A/C.
Its funny, but if I set it below 70, it blows too cold, so just like with the heat, I just set the temps a few degrees higher than I am used to on my other cars.

The heat index today was around 102+ degrees and I had the AC set to 70 degrees and the AC had no issues keeping the car cool. It was damn cold. Had to bump it up to 72. lol. Even last August when temps hovered around 100, the AC worked fine in terms of cooling the cabin down.
Does no one else notice that when you haver the car in the sun when you start the car, with climate control on auto, it immediately blasts hot air into your face and that the compressor seems to nothing for while? Or is it just my car? Auto climate is supposed to surpress fan speed till the a/c unit has generated some cold and then crank up the fan.

All Hondas, and all the VWs I have owned, and my 2012 TSX delayed fan speed until cold air was available. Even bolt under dash units from the 80s would do this. How is this instant hot air blast an improvement - it actually blows hotter air until the compressor gets its act together. Then again today's sudden return to winter - it was 39F earlier today....makes it all seem trivial....

Lately I just roll down all four windows as I'm leaving the parking lot and let the hot air get blown out. By the time I'm leaving the lot and onto the street, the air is cold, windows up, and things are fine.
