TLx 1/14/14

With Acura's current design, it's hard to imagine the TLX looking drastically different from the other models, yet still keeping with the current design theme......but I have been wrong before.
I miss the days when each individual model had its own design.

I would imagine its own section since it's certainly not a TSX, and even though we know it's mainly the TL replacement the name has changed. So I'm going to assume there will eventually be a new section for the TLX. Would be silly if there wasn't.
#124
Makes sense, but if it's really a "FIFTH GENERATION TL", then the forum names are somewhat incorrect.

When is the last time we saw a TL come in a bold red like that?
That's a very good sign already, IMO.
We can also deduce a few things about the read end with that pic. All good things.
Are those horizontal LED tubes in the tails?

The only "Good sign" is that they are marketing it with a race car driver and are attempting to be aggressive...why do that unless the styling is also aggressive?

How is the red not a good sign? The TSX targeted a younger audience. Thus, the red as you noted implies the TLX will as well. Which is unlike the 4G TL. AKA a good sign in and of itself.

I get where you're coming from now...but I still didn't think the TLX was an "aggressive" style, and definitely not aggressive performance. I thought it more targeted a younger audience purely on price point.

looks like manual transmission is gone for good. 2.4 and 3.5 targeted head on with lexus IS250 AND IS350. still not Lexus GS level. a lot of people love MT here but for their business, MT market is just too small so they ditched. and again, those head lights are just annoying. should make them as an option.

Hmmm...hopeful the P-AWS will increase the handling enough to rival some of the rear-wheel drive alternatives. Combined with the lower weight and new transmissions, MPG could push into the mid-high 30's. Didn't hear anything about hybrid motors to help drive the P-AWS or increase MPG.
This looks awesome stock, and has huge potential with minor modifications.
Good job Acura!

considering he mentioned the "new" SH-AWD reduces drag, it's probably powered with electric motors. Or could be an improved version of the traditional SHAWD.
With the end of the Infiniti G Line, there really isnt any japanese 6MT luxury sedan unfortunately. Consumers demanded acura follow other lux brands and they did.

Such a let down. Lol
Big ILX in the rear and a smashed up rlx/3G in the front.
IF the bumper didn't curve inward at the bottom it would be better. If it was solid in the middle instead of a gap it would be better.
The power train options are a joke. Why can't you get a DCT with the v6 option? A regular 2.4l inline 4 for this thing? Are you serious?
I'll be switching to the other A manufacturer and will not be looking back.

I am waiting anxiously to see if the Q60 is still 6MT and if the RC350 is 6MT
Probably going to trade in my TLS for one. I'm sure Acura will sell very many of these new TLXs.
But not for me. I absolutely hate automatics.
#158
let me shoot this down.. for people who are trying to hate are saying it looks like a ilx this or rlx that. it looks nothing like either car. the front end strongly resembles the mdx but other than that its different in a good way.
#160
I'm right next to you on that boat! I can't stand automatics either. Whichever of those mentioned has an MT option is where my business will eventually go. I love the way the TLX looks though, compared to the chode-looking ILX, and grandpa, fly-eyed RLX. It looks so damn good. But now --> RC350 w/ MT....
