Expecting to be disappointed, but cautiously optimistic.
I can't even think of a "next car" to replace my 08 TLS.
Leading candidates are maybe a used Lexus IS F Sport (once those are cheap enough) or a newer Honda Accord EX-L Coupe. Blah

How the hell does one go from an IS-F to an Accord (any variant)?
And wow I've never seen that Legend Max. That's an amazing looking vehicle. Obviously we know where the RL tail lights came from...

I bet if they put current accord interior in 3G TL and sell it as a accord, put current TL interior in an accord EX-L and sell it as TL, I bet both would sell like hot cakes. Now you have an accord that is much nicer than Camry, a TL to compete with IS, and those who wants a bigger car can go with RLX. Win-Win-Win.

I wouldn't give Chevy $55k for that car. Yet alone $85k+.
Soooo many better options out there for that kind of money.

Cars with those kind of figures are generally well into the 100k range. The Corvette, as much as you probably don't want to agree with me has usually held the bar as far as performance vehicles go.
Sorry to get off topic of the new TLX

^Have you ever touched one of the new Vettes?
IMO spend another $15k to get to the $100k mark and buy a much better vehicle. Just my
And yes I understand why every 50 year old American male that has a decent amount of money owns a Corvette.

And the question wasn't about "I could spend more $$$ and get something close to that". Go back and read what you said.
All I am saying is that for 85k (if that is even the msrp) that it is going to prove to be a headache for a lot of manufacturers to come up with something comparable.

Chad, take a look at the lap times above the ZR1 (which is where the z06 will most likely be). All of those cars with the exceptions of the "go karts" are anywhere from 120k to 300k+. Yes I know there are variables on these times but it is a good test of the cars.

Sorry but I can't ignore the car for lap times. Obviously you've been in one, you know what I'm talking about. Lol
Just personal preference I guess. But $85k no thanks.
Forgive me Steven. I know you love your car.

You obviously dont really know what your talking about. First of all the C7 Z06 was introduced TODAY, so not even sure how you can even really compare it to anything else at this point. Secondly, its going to hand every car $200,000 and below its asshole for a 1/4 of the price. The build quality, materials, reliability, even fuel economy are something that you cant even touch in any other car. Please, go ahead and name a better option out there that will perform better than a C7 Z06 for 85K. I would looooove to hear it.

It's still a C7. Build quality is the same. And I wouldn't fathom spending that much on one.
It's not about being the fastest on the track. That's the point I was trying to make.
Now let's move on this is a TLX thread.

argh.. back on topic please...
TLX TLX TLX TLX!
... although tomorrow's unveiling is a 'concept'? with plans to go to production mid 2014... you guys think the concept will be way way way off?
and realistically, what 'tech' options will be made available so that it may highlight the name ACURA? cuz the newest HONDAs are starting to incorporate pretty high tech.

I imagine plastics could change, but at this point in the game, sheet metal probably won't. Like someone else said what we will see tomorrow is probably ninety percent of what it will ultimately become.

Please God, none of that hideous "jewel-eye" crap. Way too much of the insect look.
As for the prototype vs. production, the 2004 TL aspec pics were certainly more bold than the production version, although this was a bit of concept on display. So whatever tomorrow brings, expect it to be toned down a bit in the showrooms. Hey... why couldn't these headlights make it into production on my '06? Looks like they've been JnC'd...
