Is timing Belt Change Recommended On this Generation?
I just looked at about 10 different high mileage TLX's on cars.com and none showed a timing belt change on the carfax...

The V6 Acuras have timing belts which should be changed at 90,000 miles or 10 years.whichever comes first. The four-cylinder Acuras use timing chains.

Generally acura states 105K miles before the timing belt is required to be changed along with spark plugs & water pump and valve adjustment. You can find honda and some rare acura dealers doing the job for under $1500 with coupons with OEM parts.

2015 TLX advance V6 here.
Manual states to change timing belt and plugs when Sub Code 4 appears. If driven in extreme weather they recommend change at 60,000 miles.
Adjust valves if noisy or at 150,000 miles.
Timing belt change should include timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley's, seals if needed, and coolant flush. You may also want to change out the drive belt as well.

Our TLX is still low mileage at 40,000, but our 2013 RDX V6 is at 130K +. The RDX’s maintenance reminder called for it’s timing belt change at 106,000 miles. Had it, and requisite other items, changed at our reliable independent shop. Cost was about $450 less than local Acura dealers, including Acura’s discount.

I've noticed a lot of previous V-6 owners sell their Acura vehicles around the time the timing belt is due (7yr/105,000 miles minimal time period under normal conditions). Some skip the timing belt service and drive up to +10 years and 150,000 miles before selling. It can save you $1500-$2200 if you can find a high mileage used Acura with good maintenance records and the timing belt service completed. It cost me around $1700 for the timing belt service at my 11 Acura MDX dealership back in 2018 (timing belt kit, serpentine belt kit, water pump, coolant, spark plugs, valve adjustment, L/R valve gaskets, oil change). Prices at dealerships have really gone up since and you should check out local shops or Honda for prices.

Haven't seen anyone mention that our 3.5 V6 is an interference engine. Previous Accord V6 I had called for timing belt at 105K like others have stated,1250.00 at dealer. If you buy high mileage car with no record, you are running risk without knowing if belt was changed.
Good luck,
Mike
