If you're buying a salvage title car, unless you have proof otherwise, you should assume that every car you are looking at used to look like this. Minor collisions don't total out cars worth 10's of thousands of dollars.
Looks like a big hit; glad to see the passenger compartment held up well.

And it's not the safest TLX either. I mean, it was at one point... But if she got hit again in her current state...

Several airbags deployed, front is totally destroyed, drivers side doors are beat to shit, rad support is cooked, fuck... it would be cheaper to buy a new car then fix with oem parts and a mega ton of labour.

There's a guy on youtube with videos of repairing salvage title cars. Goes by SamCrac or something like that.
These cars are definitely not worth the hastle for insurance companies, and owners to get repaired. For someone with access to discounted/free labor, and used parts, then it could actually become a profitable business model.
Most of these car sell for a few thousand less than a comparable one with a clean title, but have NO warranty, and will also be worth a lot less when you are done with them, so for me, I don't think I'd ever consider the savings as worth buying one. If needed, I have no idea what the finance options are either. Don't know how banks look at salvage titles.
I made a mistake saying to assume that all salvage title cars look like this one, you should actually assume they look worse, and that the repairs were done as cheaply as possible with as many shortcuts as possible unless you have proof otherwise. A shiny car with good panel gaps is not proof enough!

I don't see blood in the cabin - safe to assume the driver/passenger walked away? Pretty impressive really.

just stating that for the general uninformed consumer a dealer can tell them it was a minor accident and fully inspected and approved for road driving and because a consumer sees the price they may jump on it without fully investigating the history of the vehicle. So when I said "safest ever" I was meaning this one A-spec is going to be sold as a "safe & 1,000 point inspected" vehicle lol. So this particular vehicle has a lower chance of being safe in an accident due to previous damage. And because of the price will be sold eventually. I just hope the buyer has done their homework

Just understand what you are buying. Not all salvaged cars are bad if you knew the conditions and how they were fixed.
I bought a 1995 Honda Accord with Salvage title in 2001 for $5k with 80k miles. I got it thru my college years and sold it in 2005 with 150K miles for $2k. Didn't have any issues at all. I knew what I bought and the person who fixed it.
But I would personally NEVER buy a car this new with a salvage title. There was a reason the insurance company thought it'd cost them $30K+ to fix it.

That dealership is only about 20 miles from where I live. I see plenty of their cars on the road. They specialize in branded title vehicles. Basically one of those places that buys dead cars, repairs them, and sells them. We have quite a few of those around Utah.
hadokenuh hit it on the head. Salvage titles can be a great deal if you can find the photos like GhostTL did to make sure there wasn't massive damage. However, that's more common in higher mileage or older cars where they can easily be totaled if the air bags go off or there's any expensive OEM parts. My TSX was a salvage because it was rear ended, then hit the car in front of it, which set off the air bags. The pictures showed that only minor damage was done to the front and back, but combined with the airbags, the repair bill was more than 75% of the value of the car. I owned it for 2 years then passed it along to my aunt who still owns it. Drives and runs like a dream.
However, in this case, I'd certainly steer clear There's a chance they did a stellar job of repairs but with that much damage, there's a strong chance that something wasn't done as well as it should have been.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN. It's amazing how well repairs can look after a terrible crash like that.

I guess if you’re willing to buy a Salvage Titled car, you know you’re taking a chance.....a big chance. This much damage? Honestly, there’s no way to disguise it completely. There’s going to be overspray. There’s going to be mismatched components as indicated by their wear “patina”. There will be lots of tell tale signs. It’s not that hard to spot, in all reality.
If someone bought this car, knowing it’s salvaged, then that’s on them when things invariably go sideways!
