Thumbs up The Perfect Storm

Due to the Pull Ahead program, my lease is up, it's the end of the month, & the end of the year
What's a guy to do?
Pulled the trigger on a TLX SH-AWD/A-Spec Red
Can't decide on Steel Metallic or Blue; both Red interior
Suggestions please!
Great deal, nonetheless; ZERO down/36 months/$471 per, INCLUDING tax, a spare tire, wheel locks, & all season mats
Just 1st month, & the NYS Motor Vehicle fee's; all told, around $650-700
Couldn't be happier; & they're giving me tire & wheel insurance at dealer cost
WIN WIN WIN

With Still Night Blue Pearl it seems like dirt and minor paint imperfections will stand out more if paint isn't detailed, whereas with Modern Steel Metallic dirt and paint flaws are easier to hide.

If it were me, I'd go with the white (#1) or blue (#2)

I love the blue and would even call it stunning. Personally however, I would only want it with the black interior. Since you're going with the red leather, I would choose the Modern Steel, which I think looks great with the red. Curious to see which you choose. Congrats!

Suggestions? Just go look at the car in person? Bring a friend with you to the dealer for a second opinion? Either way, very nice car. With the A-Spec version, my choice would be the blue one.

The one issue I have with the steel is that the shark grey rims look too much like the color of the paint and are too tonal. Personally I like the white version.

Car looks great in all colours, but white combines great looks, practicality and a nice contrast with the red interior. However, that blue is stunning!

Awesome, i think you and i had the early model TLX as well. Once you get the car leave some feedback here on transmission shifting and response time as well as acceleration.

Kuzdu; I actually test drove the A-Spec AWD in Florida last week; that's what sold me
The tranny is way better than our current one; (mine was replaced); still 9 speed ZF, but no more jolts, & "parachuting"
The suspension, has been tweaked nicely, to go with the new Michelin 19" rubber
Air cooled seats, driver thigh support, wireless IPhone charging, Apple car Play, etc., etc., etc.
BTW; There's a subtle growl from the engine, & the electric steering is much improved, with a thicker steering wheel
BEST OF ALL: the ANNOYING AUTO IDLE STOP, can be PERMANENTLY disconnected; YAY
Can't wait to take delivery; I'll post some reviews, & pics., over the weekend

Man that sounds goooood, next month will be my new car, I may not get the AWD but let me know if it feel any slower than the 15 TLX once you drive it around. What dealer did you go to in Brooklyn? I usually got to Rallye in Long Island

My '15 was SH-AWD/Tech
This A-Spec is smoother, quicker, & doesn't "parachute"

When I test drove the A-Spec SH-AWD in Florida, the salesperson did it through the tech screen
Don't remember exactly how, but I'm sure I'll figure it out, after I pick-up the new A-Spec

I believe you were misinformed by your sales guy. You can only turn off auto idle stop with the button, and it needs to be pressed everytime you turn the car on.

If you could get your sales guy to show you, then share that would be great, maybe a new software update came out for it?

Silvaccordex01: spoke with the Florida salesperson
She claims you can PERMANENTLY disable the Auto Idle Stop, through the system settings
Can't confirm, because I won't take delivery till Saturday
Maybe it's only on the A-Spec, or on the 2018 TLX models

Congrats on the new car!! Let us know if you can disable it though, that'd be awesome! I know everyone wants to disable it permanently but I've heard the 3-series xDrive requires you to disable it every time you start the car too, for the same EPA reason Acura doesn't let you permanently disable it.

I have the same car you do, 2018 A-Spec, and there is no such setting in the system settings. Just the button on the center console you have to push every time you start the vehicle if you don't want it on. If you find a secret setting when you pick it up, please let us all know

Kuzdu; was cruising at 80-90 MPH; only hiccup was the A-Spec has this safety feature, that shimmies the steering wheel, momentarily, if you go out of your lane

My 2018 V6 FWD has had no vibration issues, smooth and quiet, pleasant driving for sure. Now if only this damn shitty winter weather would be done and I didn't have dirty salt all over my car every time I drive somewhere...

How did you turn off the auto idle stop permanently? That and the trans are the two main things that I would like changed. Odd you brought up the jolts. Today when letting off the gas just at cruising speed my trans was upshifting which felt like it was briefly speeding up and also it was not upshifting correctly and holding rpm's instead of shifting along with some other odd behavior. Once I stopped and re-started it went back to "normal" operation but that was a first. Besides that the car has been great.

Kuzdu, etc;

After 100, City/Hwy., miles, I'm glad to say, all of my former 2015 TLX SH-AWD problems, have been corrected!
The new SH-AWD/A/Spec, is the best Acura, I've driven
Transmission, is smooth as silk; seats are true sportscar, including electric thigh support
Apple CarPlay; no steering shimmy
Cooled seats; intuitive cruise control, etc., etc., etc.
What a $45,000 car should be
Handles great in the snow
subtle engine growl
WOW!

Nice ride bud.

I am being offered the V6 non AWD standard for 370 same terms. Trying to debate on if the tech package 60 more , or the AWD drive 40 more is worth it. Ill see if I can get them to lower those numbers when I head over for a test drive later in the week

That ASPEC is beautiful though.. slightly high in price for my blood.

Congrats!
