Acura blamed that on the tight supply of some of the TLX models....
Acura
Acura sedans pushed an overall brand increase in November, led by the new popular TLX and growing momentum from the ILX. Acura trucks also fared well, maintaining strong market performance as MDX continues to lead the Acura division overall.
The Acura sedan lineup rose substantially in November, gaining 29.5 percent for the month on sales of 6,208 vehicles.
TLX was Acura's second best-selling model again in November with over 4,200 units sold, even as tight supply of some models in the TLX lineup kept the new sedan from eclipsing its stellar October result.
ILX gained 4.4 percent for the month on sales of 1,652 units.
"The strength of Acura sedans is clearly on the rise since bringing the hot-selling TLX to market in late summer," said Mike Accavitti, Acura division senior vice president and general manager. "And with demand outstripping supply, we see even more upside potential with TLX and the rest of our sedan lineup in the coming months."
MDX is selling well. The TLX is at least selling even though it is odd they were about 500 short for this month compared to last. Supply will catch up, though. I imagine SH-AWD is in demand right now
I doubt that the demand outweigh the supply at least here in socal. Dealer here in has 41 in stock, down from a high of 48 a month ago. I call bullshit? Hopefully theres incentives next april when my lease is up.
It is an "ouch" if demands outstrip supply and even decrease the month-to-month sales for any vehicle.
4,233 is a solid number.
Ideally there should be a balance between supply and demand, but in this case it's better to have demand outstripping supply than to have a strong supply and weak demand. You don't want to be left with an oversupply of inventory and then be forced to give huge discounts to move inventory *cough* RLX *cough*
Anyone with a supply problem should reach out to dealers where I live in NJ.
As of this morning, one dealer has 71 TLX's in stock; another has 52, and a third has 37.
These three dealers are all within 15 miles of each other.
They are still selling well...hopefully it will increase again. Happy to have mine since October 3! I don't regret my purchase one bit even with the minor transmission problems I have encountered and since have received software update :-)

Big market for luxury and "entry" luxury cars here in NJ. My dealer, Acura of Ocean, also has 37 (unless that's one you looked at).
I think that's a result of the Acura Advantage program ending and the initial push of upgrades from TL's/TSX's ending as well. Actually I'll wager that internally Acura is happy with Nov's TLX sales number. Dec/Jan/Feb trend will be the thing to watch methinks - tough months to sell cars.
Just to get an idea of levels in my neck of the woods, in all of New England Acura dealers it lists:
44 base 2.4
28 tech 2.4
consider this is out of a total of 285 TLX, so this seems to indicate to me that they might be supply restricted on 2.4, as my guess is that this should be the bigger seller. While there is only 19 SH-AWD available which to me should have more stock considering northeast favors AWD more so then a lot of other parts of the country.
The other thing to consider is that if they are selling at a healthy clip with not huge discounts then if I was the dealer why not make try to make some money.
Sales still seem healthy to me, and supply restricted is probably spot on for certain combos.

I'd venture to guess that there is only a couple of those SH-AWDs that are the Advance models.

Ironically I got mine on Oct 3 as well ! And the transmission is annoying! I'm going for my Navi update next week and to discuss the tranny shifting hard.
Rethink? The RLX needs a complete overhaul. A car in that class should not be FWD. It should be AWD as a base. The exterior needs to be revamped. It's too vanilla looking. Its price range should be $48-55K. A $60K+ RLX is just dead in the water.

Keep us informed, maybe in a new thread. Would this rate a full TSB? I would thing it would.
Mine is annoying at low speed, and at its worst when cold. That's Texas cold, 50F, not Calgary cold, -24C.
I didn't think to bring it up during my navi software update.

Did the service department confirm that the Navi update is available in Canada? Theoretically it should not be different from the US version, but it is still not listed on the the Official Acura Navigation Centre site (The Official Acura Map Update Site), and you are the first Canadian to say that they are getting it.

I have not heard anything on the Canadian Navi update.
I think the Lexus chief may be right: "Lexus should give up on beating the Germans on volume, as this executive suggests. They just shouldn't lose sight of beating them on quality."
Now, if only executive bonuses were not associated to sales... roll eyes here.

Fully agree. I know technically most people could not tell FWD from RWD, but the stigma is there a true luxury car must be RWD or AWD. Even Lexus has woke up and implemented more aggressive styling (whether you love it or hate it). Bland fade into the crowd will not cut in in the highly competitive luxury car market.

I'm not sure fwd, awd, or rwd really makes that much difference. The ES is the best selling Lexus sedan and it's fwd. The Caddy XTS is fwd. So is the A6 (although most sold are quattro). Infinitis are rwd and they're not out selling acura. Sure, styling could be improved, but I think Acura should also concentrate on giving the RLX a very smooth, very quiet but still controlled ride . It is already quite roomy. Also I agree the price is too high and puts them up against stiff competition. Maybe Acura should also consider a 5 year/ 60,000 mile warranty and "free" scheduled maintenance for 4 or 5 years which offers even more value.
I believe a number of November deliveries were pre-registered in October....it's a stupid practice but common in the industry. Overall sales so far are still high.

Mostly true, but the demo of the ES and XTs is well, how to be nice here.. barely breathing ;-)
