hello guys. I saw on the official website that theres no Aero Kit (front and rear) for the new A-Spec model. Too bad for Acura IMO, at least they need to produce a the front lip.

 

As was stated at the time of release, the A-Spec has different body parts from the regular TLX. That's a good thing as it keeps the body kit from looking stuck-on. Don't worry, Acura will make as many as people will buy.

 

Yeah, I don't see it as a loss. It's nice they created separate bumpers to differentiate between the two cars. Out of curiousity- does the kit remain for the non-A-Spec?

 

The non A-spec kit still exists, but are tack-on pieces as expected (very few will likely be sold anyway as most enthusiasts will spring for the A-spec). Side skirts are carryovers from the pre-MMC, and I suspect the same goes for the 4-cyl's rear skirts (amusingly, the 360° view in the build configurator doesn't show any of them...so much for "precision" ). Overall, the look is almost as aggressive as the A-spec (especially in darker colors), but a tad cleaner and less boy racer-ish

 

And unless I'm mistaken, it seems the white A-spec example has black lip extensions (ala ILX) and A-spec headlights?

It'll be interesting once these hit the used car market...

OP seems to be confused, moving from a tape on bodykit to fully integrated unique front and rear bumpers in the sport model (A-Spec) is a huge step forward. It's the same approach BMW takes with their M models, and anytime you're following in their footprints it's a good thing.

 

Agree 100% looks much better when its actually part of the basic car structure & not a stick on. When I swapped.the lower center panel of the M-Sport rear bumper for a diffuser the stock panel came off & the diffuser replaced it, no tack on. Points on the board for Acura with this change.

FWIW I could be wrong seem to remember someone here with the sick on kit having some issues with it staying stuck on.

 

the tlx's have had some adhesion issues documented. even my dealer said they had issues and that was a floor model. Why anyone would want stick on pieces is beyond me. We asked for different body panels to differentiate from trim levels and we got it. I have nothing to complain about. and with as many lines and curves as the refreshed tlx has where in the world would you find space for a kit.

 

The gallery on Acura's page shows the ASPEC with the front "bolt-on" spoiler kit... Not really feeling it, at all.

 

^ Odd that they'd show this combo, when you can't even build it with their configurator. The front lip pieces also don't line up quite right, but do add some aggression from afar. I can see A-spec owners doing this in a couple years, like how 3G TLS owners "hacked" the base 3G lips to fit.
