May 15 demo

Summer is Coming
I think their plans were to have an I4 and V6 at each dealership by 23 May. If I had to guess they are just like the ones at the release, an I4 Tech and a V6 Advanced. With production wheels. The SH-AWD will probably come later. I hope this is not delayed. The NY car show cars are probably from this same production run. Might be a low rate initial production to work the assembly bugs out.
There are 270 dealerships in the US, not sure how many in Canada. Plus some cars for corporate and media events, call it 1,000 cars in this production run. That is 30-40 TLX's a day? Probably a pretty good LRIP run.

Is the May 15 date for demos still on?

I think the recent management changes have invalidated a lot of decisions made by the "old guard". Obviously the new regime at Acura is taking a second look at everything from A to Z before they assume responsibility for decisions made before they took control. I think thats a good thing.

You and I both Keith.....and knowing that the ILX has the same issues and those dampers are going on the TLX....sure doesn't turn me on! I am glad to see I am not the only one who is spiteful

One thing I don't understand is the RLX. They gave it to journalists to test (I am talking about the hybrid) a while back and still not in production. So, this is perhaps one indication that some of the new big cheeses (lol) have put things on hold because they don't want to go down in flames as soon as they showed up to run the joint because of some stupid mistake someone made. So they are looking at everything from A to Z and don't care how much time it takes as long as they get it right the first time. Just a thought. At least, I would have done the same thing in their position.
PS. I am keeping an eye on the local dealership (I drive by every day on my way home - lol)... maybe a TLX or a new RLX will miraculously appear. But, all I see so far is 2 new black advance 2014 TLs at $8k off the sticker ! Tempted... LOL.

Suzuka Master
Can not believe the new regime would hold the RLX SH-AWD, as there is nothing to accomplish other than embarrassment since the car is eons late. I suspect either they are having problems or something. I honestly am looking forward to testing the new 15 Genesis. And actually I like the refreshed Q70, would not mind going back to Infiniti. For now I will continue to enjoy my A6.

I think the delay in the RLX Hybrid is mostly due to lack of battery supply and probably lack of demand for the car. The SH-AWD RLX will be the niche product of a niche product, so it is probably more about saving face now than trying to sell this car. It would not surprise me if Acura loses money on each one they sell. I don't think the market will support a very high price.

I was at the dealer yesterday for an oil change. They said the demo date would not happen on the 15th and no ETA yet. They did say their initial order would be 9 TL's of various trims. NO PRICES yet. Goodson Acura of Dallas.
