Probably few of you already read my comments about TLX vs 4g (which I loved) I decided that it was the time to let her go. No issues with the car , probably just with myself .

After bouncing back and forth between a Macan (hell of the car but 11 month to wait!!) then a SQ5(very nice machine , actually my hearth this is wanted instead of Macan unavailability ) and the C400 (not too impress with the ride quality , nice engine but a lot of road noise in the cabin , more than TLX ) , I came to my senses (actually the wife...) and I decide that the TLX is still the best value for the hard money earned.
I went with V6 SH-AWD Elite white/Expresso . I'll get it on next Monday as I need to install the summer tire on my 4G to give it back and I can do that only after March 15 (law in Quebec) .
Actually what decided me to get the TLX was after I did this week another test drive with a 2015 build and I think I felt an improvement on Throttle and gearbox response . I also use the paddle shifts and it was quite responsive to downshift and I said "Ok , I can leave with that" .
I asked the salesmen to give me an 2015 build if he wants my deal and we went together on their stock lot to find out the build dates for his 3 Elite's on stock. First was a build of Aug 2014 with a sticker on it "Fail" (the gearbox issue!) ,second was actually the one on shop floor built on Dec 14 and finally the third one was the ONE , built on Jan 15 ! we took it out of the lot and move it on sold cars area.


But again because my hearth is still to SQ5 I said I'll lease the TLX for 3 years up to new SQ5 is coming on the market and become "mature" or even a refreshed MACAN eventually.
Anyways, for now I'm still on Acura family .

 

Well congrats! That Macan is incredible though. If I had the income .... hands down! I'd wait! Ha.

Welcome aboard!!! After this bitter winter (it's over now ) I envy the Canadian version with the heated steering wheel and heated windshield. I also like the headlight washers your version has and I think it's a great feature that I'll miss on my TLX.

Momyc...OMG! Now that caught me off guard but as we say in French....Felicitation! Tu as une combinaison parfaite - J'adore la couleur!

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who saw an improvement in the throttle response as well (2 weeks ago) so it seems that the software updates are indeed making a difference.

I was in Mtl a few weeks ago and had stopped at Gabriel Acura (on the West Island) and was curious if that was where you had gotten yours but I see your are north of the island.

You guys are driving me nuts....I am so so on the fence...My head says Acura but my heart says Lexus. A 39 months will put me in that spot where the MMC TLX will be out and all the quirks worked out but man I want one so badly!

Can you send me a PM on your lease payments you got for March...I'd appreciate seeing your numbers.

 

I think you are driving yourself nuts, and I would have guessed that your heart said TLX (the emotional response), but the head says Lexus (the sensible choice as you are so paranoid about potential TLX problems). Try this logic: if a reasonable numbers of TLX cars had issues, say 10%, then there would a major flap and sales would tumble. The heart knows what it wants and it will always bother you if you go against it, whichever car that turns out to be.

 

^^ A couple of points....when I was saying you guys are driving me nuts, I meant it in a good way with all you gorgeous TLX

Second, I guess I was trying to say that my head says Acura because I know the brain thinks bang for your buck and I know it is a great car - but the passion (heart) is with the Lexus after driving it...I found it more fun to drive (engaging).

But you are making great points about the overall positive numbers of TLX sold and I am sure none of these are serious issues. Days like these makes me wish I lived in a more urban center with great dealer network instead of the boonies (lol)

Like me , the heart was at SQ5(or Macan) ,both very engaging cars and I like them a lot , but when we run the numbers didn't sound a good deal and that's why finally I went with my rational side.

If only the tlx was like the prototype I wouldn't have went to the dark side, but that was not the case. It was just time to try something different and I'm glad I did.

 

Weather, the IS is a nice car too - enjoy it. I had that on my shopping list too but it did not suit my needs so I did not go for it in the end. You kept it so quiet as if you felt bad for getting a Lexus while on this board.... honestly, I don't think that anyone here really sees this as an issue... LOL! We just share the passion and enjoy our cars, and that's all that matters! ENJOY!!!

Finally , I got it today. I just drove it home after delivery. So far so good. Very quiet compared with 4G and the overwhelming tech at least at first glance.
